Bornholms Rovfugleshow

I like owls, like a lot. So this was more or less perfect for me.
They start the show inside, and shows some different birds, and tell you a little about them in Danish and in German. For English speaking people, this would be a little boring.
Continues outside in a good environment for people and birds!

Hammershus

Reviewed By Fanny L - Singapore, Singapore

It is a must do when you visit Bornholm -hassle free, no admission ticket, sufficient interpretive in multi-language, great view, good walk plus nice picnic ground. It is Northern Europe's largest medieval castle ruin, and one of Denmark's most important historical monuments, built in early 1300. Don't forget your hut, sun block, windbreaker and walking shoes. Oh, dogs are welcome too!

Hammerknuden, Slotslyngen

Reviewed By angeleyes27 - Marlton, New Jersey

This is ruins of a 13th century castle built along the bluffs of the Baltic Sea. Now in ruins but once the site of fierce battles, it is Northern Europe's largest medieval castle. There reminds me of Blarney Castle in Ireland. You get a magnificent view of the coast from the north end of the fortress. It has free admission and is about a half mile walk from the parking lot to the ruins. There is a restaurant here as well. There are only pay toilets and they have a note that they will lock you inside if you don't pay. There are some plaques giving some insight into the fortress history, but there are no tours.

Helligdomsklipperne V. Bornholms Kunstmuseum Helligdommem

Reviewed By matiasrake

Helligdomsklipperne offers spectacular views of a ragged, rocky coastline on Northern Bornholm. Probably best enjoyed by boat (MS Thor travels from Gudhjem multiple times a day), you get a good impression from the landside.
I would recommend though to expand your visit by following the coastal tracks either north or south, well marked tracks that's not busy and offers the possibility to get really close to nature.

Osterlars Rundkirke

Reviewed By Fanny L - Singapore, Singapore

It is still a functional church today, the building is well preserved, and the largest amount the four in Bornholm. If you only have time for one, this is it. A DKK10 fee is imposed, and it is worth it. There are some token English interpretive here and there, and the booklet is Dkk20. Do take the stair up to the top and don't forgot to walk through the graves in the garden, to spot some of the tomb stones that is a few hundreds years old. There is also a nice cafe opposite the church for relaxation and admiring the architectural design for a far.

Svaneke Havn

Very nice little harbor, although local fishing is actually suffering from fishing quotas etc. There is at least one fishing boat regularly selling fish right off the deck (www.havfriskfisk.dk), the homepage is updated with the landing times/harbors and the types that will be for sale. Fish smokery within walking distance, north of the harbor. Pleasant stroll south of the harbor, gives you a beautiful Panorama of the village itself.

You can access Rokkestenen/the rocking stone from several dirctions, i can recommend the one from Klinteby.
Take the red route, it's a 3 km that will take you past the Rokkesten and a picture perfect "mountain" lake (Grydesø).
And it IS super easy to get the stone to rock! Small pulses with pretty high frequency do the trick. My 13 year old dauther managed.
Note: the walking routes are NOT well marked. When in doubt, take the "main" path, ie the biggest

A beautiful gallery of hand-blown glass, a specialty on the island Some of the pieces are staggeringly beautiful - and staggeringly expensive. The wine glasses are about Euros 60 each. Worth the visit - and they sell 'seconds': pieces that have small flaws can go for a very reasonable price
