From the moment you arrive the staff are warm and welcoming ... Every table was full but we still receieved very attentive service all evening.Starters were tiger Prawns then followed Beef Wellington all superb with the Beef medium rare as ordered ...White and red were topped up throughout the meal as per the concept inclusive menu!Desserts were a delight to look at and eat ... I would say the best «pizzeria» in the island and one of the best in Portugal !Finally the real «pizza napoletana» landed on this island together with Mr Gustavo a true master pizzaiolo.What about «pasta»...? It seems to eat in Italy,always «al dente», try to believe it.

4th time this year we have visited.Staying in hotel over the road but prefer a quiet intimate meal.The food is tasty ,well cooked and great value,a simple menu so you know stuff is cooked fresh .Staff are welcoming and attentive.Tables outside in gazebo when weather is warm but it is heated outdoors too.Even in winter it is mild enough to eat outside if you're from u.k .Will return next time we are over on holiday .Dear guest and member of Tripadvisor, we like to thank you for your kind words and to let you know that you will be always welcomed at our restaurant Dona Nina

Located high up on a hillside with great views across the sea to Funchal. Restaurant is clearly used mainly by the local population rather than just tourists.Excellent quality and good value fillet steak kebabsFriendly service. The only issue we had is that when it went dark their lights are very bright which as well as affecting the atmosphere also loses the views over the bay as the main thing that you see in the window is your own reflection.Also had a large TV on (with sound off) which again damages the restaurant atmosphere

As others stated before me, the location is excellent : high on a cliff overviewing a quasi private bay, directly at the cliff edge. Perfect in nice weather. The food isn't bad but to be honest, I would not recommend any of the starters but the main courses are good to very good. We have been several times to this restaurant and only once were we disappointed in the quality of the main course (a T-Bone steak that could rival with an old shoe...). The wines and the service are exceptionally good. But you need time : waiting (with a glass of bubbles that is being offered) until the order is taken, waiting before the food is served, waiting until you get billed. But in that beautiful spot, who cares?

Excellent light lunch today, thanks to suggestion and good reviews on TA. We stopped at this small restaurant on a lovely warm & sunny day. Selected 2 tapas dishes to share. Sardines crostini & stuffed peppers. Both delicious. Washed down with a beer. Highly recommended

I had a recommendation so went for lunch. We sat outside in the courtyard, which was very pleasant... tables were spread out well, not so close to other tables. Good choices on the menu, but even with all the choice I decided to have the Scabbard fish again in Madeira, but this time with an almond crust. A starter of bruschetta was very good. The fish was delicious, it could have been slightly dry on its own, but came with a good bowl of sauce, along with potatoes and salad. The Polvo was gorgeous, I almost wish I'd chosen that, but I can have next time! We finished with a passion fruit Panna Cotta which was delicious. With a half bottle of Casal Garcia it was a really lovely lunch for a very reasonable price. Thank you, will come here again sometime.

Visited here on reading rave reviews on trip advisor and disappointed with the lack of decent fish restaurants in Funchal.We arranged with our hotel to make the reservation and book the minibus which arrived on time with little fuss.On arriving at the restaurant we were shown to our table but we could have sat anywhere as it was so quiet.We arrived just before sunset and the views were stunning.The service from beginning to end was exemplary and we enjoyed selecting our own fish though the choice was limited.The turbot fillet was cooked to perfection and the accompaniments fresh and plentiful.A glass of Madeira wine at the end toasted a lovely evening.

Always reserve an evening for a meal here. Never disappointed, but tonightâs was the best yet, even without the addition of the local folk dancing troupe. Went for the traditional espetada on laurel branches. Sides: chips, maize, tomato & onion salad, grilled pineapple, savoury rice & sweet potatoes and molasses. Decent bottle of Vinho Verde. One Super Bock. Meal for â¬80. Superb.â¤ï¸

We visited Restaurante Martucci after seeing several excellent feedbacks on TA. Martucci is an excellent eatery with a very capable crew and exceptional food. Our visit became a very good experience for me and my wife.My wife choosed Salmon tartar with avocado and cucumber (see the picture). I had Shrimp ravioli with crab sauce and basil. Both starters were done to perfection. We also very much enjoyed the wonderful and generous garlic bread we were given after a few minutes. We had the Spesial Consept Menu to 35 EUROS per person, including different wines and so on. We both choosed Fillet Beef which were perfect. For dessert I had Panacotta with mango and black berry. Unforgettable! One of my best desserts ever! My wife's favourite is Tiramisu, and she is determined that this course is a parametre of the chef's skill. The Tiramisu at Martucci was her best ever! A marvelous evening! We were lucky to visit Martucci om our second day at Madeira-holiday. We will come back in a few days, for this restaurant is well worth visiting.
