We drive to and from Portugal from the U.K. twice a year, normally we stay in hotels but decided to try something different this trip.. How lucky to stubble on this beautiful place ! Highly recommend for everyone. We got there for dinner and went to the restaurant. It cost around €24 each for the buffet and unlimited drinks including wine and beer !!!! The man on the desk on entering the restaurant was so lovely. He later saw me waiting for a drink and came over and served me, I don’t actually think it was his job to but as the waiter was busy he helped.. the staff are very friendly and kind. The food was so delicious and all fresh. The choice of food is large with gorgeous salads and pastas great for vegetarians.. massive thank you to your lovely business and well done for having such a great team. We will see you later in the year. P.S they are dog friendly x

O Homem Verde

We are a small yurt camp that offers an exotic safari type experience in one of our two comfortable and stylish yurts. Set on south facing terraces, on the edge of woodland, the calls of nearby dear and owls can be heard often while gazing into the stars from the veranda of your yurts - breathe deep and let go! Just peace and quiet

Reviewed By Lambda75

Helped by a dry, sunny weather, we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the yurt. Were it to rain the experience might be spoiled by mud in the unkept ground surrounding it and the danger associated with an access through a very rough stone path/steps which will surely become very slippery. The facilities are ok, but seem to have seen better days and to have been cleaner...once. Peace and quiet galore, could be much improved with very little effort. Nice try, though and good location!

Not suitable for heavy vehicles

Reviewed By Colleen M

We arrived at the site with our Fifth Wheeler and was told we could easily park it anywhere on the site. So we paid for 3 nights even though the price was extort. We have been travelling around Portugal for 5 months and this was by far the most expensive. The site is very big but not suitable at all for heavy outfits. The only 2 hardstanding surfaces (which was actually car parking spaces for the bungalows )were already taken. We were ready to go and request a refund when we found a little slip road which we could use as the site was extremely quiet due to it being out of season. Use of the washing machine was also expensive. 5€ for 5kg. All of the machines on other sites we have visited take a load of 7kg and the average price being 3.50€. Orbitur should definitely look at their price structure. This was the first Orbitur site we have stayed on during our 5 months of travelling but this experience has not made it conducive to visit another Orbitur campsite.

Spent 3 nights in the run down inadequately equipped bungalows. Should have realised we made a big mistake the minute we walked into the reception. The staff were unfriendly - no greetings or information given. Swimming pool closed for refurbishment but no explanation or refund offered - despite this being one of the reasons we chose this place. The campsite could and should be nice - due to the setting - but is rundown with litter everywhere and very little maintenance. It is surrounded by major roads which are noisy as well as feeling like an imprisonment. The only good point is the bus stop outside which takes you away from it all.

Good sized pitches

Reviewed By Colleen M

The lady on reception was extremely helpful and friendly. There are no marked out pitches so it made it easy for us to park up our large outfit: 8.5m long Fifth Wheeler with Toyota Hilux truck. Nice easy access into campsite. We don't need to use on site ablutions, but they looked very clean. Unfortunately Wifi is only available at the bar which I always find a pain. There is a bus stop right outside the gates which takes you into the pretty town of Coimbra: €1.60 per person one way. Brilliant value. What brings down our rating for this campsite is the restaurant. Service was very unfriendly and our food was cold. Had choice of just fish or chicken with a starter of pea soup. This was tasty but only lukewarm. I opted for the cod, potatoes and spinach. My husband had the roast chicken with rice. Both of our meals were cold, which was a shame. If it had been served hot both meals would have been enjoyable.

Rather nice

Reviewed By 781alenkak

We've been to quite a few camps and can say this one is rather nice. Lots of shade, quite natural, nice enough restaurant and bar. Toilet blocks very basic and old, half of showers don't function well, no heating. Trees really need to be tended to as branches grow very low often to the ground. Dangerous for campers and caravans. The price list and actual prices don't match, "sorry". But all in all, ok.

One of the best campsites in Portugal. Well maintained and nicely located. Very friendly and helpful staff. I also liked it because it was an easy walk into town (go the back way, past the little church, down the hill to the bridge).

We were there during early season with lots of open spaces so it was very nice - staff was exceptionally nice and helpful, pitches were large and abundant. Might be different in high season though the staff said they are rarely fully booked - good location
