Absolutely amazing stay

Reviewed By earthjujo96

Everything about this place is magical. The mountain views, the shale houses, the people, the staff (everyone was super nice!). The breakfast is really good, and taking it overlooking the mountain just made it that more special (and tasty!). The room (we stayed at Casa da Nogueira) was just perfect: the bed was really super cozy, the kitchenette very well equipped and the bathroom clean and well lit. The fireplace is the cherry on top, providing a really comfy setting for the apartment. Additionally, the design of the place and its contents is super tasteful and modern, but also in line with the surround environment of calm, quiet mountain beauty. On top of all of the amazing things within the apartment alone, being able to walk out of this little corner into the refreshing mountain air and the wondrous peaks and hills of Serra da Lousã is just a pleasure beyond belief. An experience to repeat for sure!

Expectations defrauded

Reviewed By JJ_guimas

Unfortunately, our expectations were completely dashed!!! We asked and paid for a double room, exquisite as you would expect from the photos, and it turned out that we were presented with an annex outside the main house that had nothing to do with the rest of the decor and style of the place it promotes. Worse yet, was the disappointment with the breakfast. It is nothing like what they say at booking or promote on their site, nothing like in the pictures. As we were on the last shift, at 10am, there was practically nothing left to eat, the tables were mostly pre-occupied and therefore dirty to clean, and the staff in the kitchen bantering instead of replacing the things that should be in this "excellent breakfast". It was a big disappointment, unfortunately and certainly, we will not be back.

Lovely accommodation, fabulous hosts

Reviewed By 305liezeln

We had a most enjoyable stay at Villa Silene. Accommodation was spacious and spotlessly clean. Ana was such a gracious hostess. The homemade preserves were a real treat at breakfast which was both ample and delicious. We were given plenty of much welcomed advice on which direction to head off in to best enjoy the views on our motorcycle. Will most definitely stay here again in the near future.

Urban Art Camping By Campigir

3 months living in a bungalow, best option around for peace and space.

Reviewed By ChuchonMC

So... I've been living in this camping during 3 months, I think I can give you some useful and updated info, everything from my opinion: - First the situation of the camp. To me it was really nice because it's a little bit on the side of everything. Calm, quiet and without parties close, but at the same time 5 mins away from Baleal, and another 5 from Almagreira (all by car). Also the camping has parking inside and outside, so I could park my car at the entrance absolutely everyday, and that was really useful. The supermarkets are far, but the ones you can go to in Baleal are SO expensive. At the end, if you want a good supermarket you have to go to Peniche. Anyway, in Ferrel there is a grocery you can get more or less the basics, and it's just 10 mins walking. Also the Camping provide some stuff in the shop and I have to say that those things are really good priced.  - Then my bungalow was equipped with exactly what I was needing: my own kitchen fully equipped, double bed, my own toilette and shower, and even a desk. Not the best desk possible (also I'm big), it was more like a table for 2 but I was really comfortable there. There is a closet with some drawers and space for hangers also. To me, at this point what I was missing is a place to hang the wetsuit outside. There are some stuff in the windows to put the towels hanging but not with enough height for a wetsuit. Most people coming here like to surf and at the end you don't really know where to put the wetsuit to dry. Also if you are looking just for the mini house with beds, I know for other people that is a really nice option and cheap.  - The workers in my opinion are really nice! Maybe some of them are not the most charismatic people ever, but they care about you and your problems and that is the MOST important thing in a hotel/camping/hostel/whatever. Perhaps security guys or cleaning ladies don't have the best english level ever, but they understand what you are trying to say, and they put attention on their jobs. Reception team is always very kind and they speak really good english / spanish.  - About protocols and Covid-19... I have nothing bad to say. During this summer they were always wearing the masks indoors and making tests to people at the entrance (to me as well). Following the rules, I guess everything was correct.  - People talk about smell: to be honest, I was there for one month and I just realized about smell when a friend told me that he read it on the internet. Inside the bungalows you don't even knowabout the smell. Outside with tents? Sometimes it smells weird, but I mean, that is nature, I wouldn't say it is a "camping problem". Nature is what it is.  - Other things... There is parking in the camping area but outside the barrier with more or less 10-12 places, really good for parking. In 3 months I could always park there. The security guys take care of them as well the whole night, it's right in front of the cabin. There is no risk there or even in the area. The toilettes are equipped and clean. There are some washing machines but I didn't use them because I was doing it in Peniche when I was going to the supermarket. Tent areas have roofs! And bungalows are not soundproof but they isolate quite well. I definetely will repeat it again as much as possible. If you are looking for a calm place where you can park and have your own stuff and space, I think it is the best option.

Valentines/Anniversary stay

Reviewed By Maria W

We booked the Deluxe Suite to stay in on February 14th 2021 to celebrate both Valentines and our wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed from booking to check out... Tânia (owner/manager) took my booking via messenger and answered all questions I had, then greeted us there at an arranged time and went through our check in with us, when we arrived at our room we fell in love with not just the decor which was chic and stunning, but the attention to detail all throughout such as champagne and two flutes by the free standing room in the bedroom, the selection of fresh fruit, melted chocolate, jelly/cream, liquor chocolates, more champagne in the mini fridge, two white robes, lit tea lights everywhere, the beautiful swans made from towels with a rose and scattered petals, the coffee machine all set up and some biscuits too, a bottle of water, a balcony with spectacular view over the Town... if you are looking to come visit the beautiful central part of Portugal then I recommend you stay at Villa Boutique, not only are you in the geographic centre of Portugal but you have access to some beautiful award winning river beaches, plenty of cafés, restaurants, shops, indoor market and only 1.5hrs from the Capital Lisbon... perfect for couples, individuals, families, trail walkers and much more... 5 stars ⭐️

Located 11 km from Seia city, the doorway to Serra da Estrela Mountain, Casa do Boco is an 18th-century granite house located in Meruge. Each unit is different from each other. They all include a seating area and heating, and some have a fireplace. The interiors give continuity to the rustic-style of the building.
