Good for a short stay but be aware
Reviewed By 109matthewoStayed for a week in the Nordic Chalets in March. Overall it was positive but there are a few things to be aware of before you book. We were a family of 4 and arrive via overnight train to Kolari. We travelled independently. But the positive first - Nordic Chalets were spotlessly clean and well equipped. - Dinner in the restaurant was excellent every time (didn’t have the buffet) - Staff were all very friendly and accommodating - Bus from Kolari drops you to the door (€85 return for 2 adults and 2 children) - Free ski storage in apartments (or lockers by the gondola if you’re really lazy) - Enough places to eat so you won’t get bored if you don’t want to eat at the hotel - for a week. Now the negative - It’s 300m+ walk from the hotel. Dragging bags over gritted ice and snow downhill was hard…uphill to check out was really hard with kids. They should provide a shuttle service. I would tip generously. - All the equipment and couldn’t even buy coffee in the mini market. Self catering here is hopeless unless you have a car. The bus to Akaslompolo was over €30 for us and not that regular. Mini market really doesn’t have much. - The Nordic Apartments are not ski in or out. Not by any definition. The hotel is - but not the apartments. - The kids niche was comfortable - they loved it. Our bed was akin to a camper or sofa bed. The mattes is only an inch or two thick. It’s not a double. It was not comfortable and found it hard to sleep on but I am a light sleeper.

Aurora Estate is a boutique hotel and reastaurant which was established at december 2015 at Yllasjarvi. Hotel has 7 individual rooms and a restaurant that has 50 seats. We also have in our estate an old Lappish log house and that same atmosphere was brought in to our newly built main building. In the old loghouse we have an electric sauna and shower, at the estate we also have an outdoor jacuzzi and a traditional smoke sauna, which you can book separately.

Reviewed By Voyage556424The Aurora Estate is an absolute delight in every way. The food, hospitality and care are second to none. It is a very special little place set on the edge of a beautiful lake, where you can even have a private dinner served to you by the fire in the sauna house. Brilliant location, where the ski bus can pick you up just at the end of the lane. It is so great being close enough to the ski slopes, whilst at the same time being in a quiet and very peaceful location. Nikklas, the chef, is hugely talented and the cleaners, waiters and waitresses are friendly and gracious. We were lucky enough to stay for a whole week and loved every minute of our stay. Thank you to everyone at Aurora Estate for a truly wonderful hotel and dining experience!

We warmly welcome you to stay in our hotel! Hotel Ylläsrinne is located only 35km away from Kittilä airport, in the middle of the arctic scenery, surrounded by fells and forests of National Park which offer great possibilities for a refreshing and comfortable holiday. Hotel rooms are freshly renovated during summer-October 2018 and the newly refurbished comfortable, spacious rooms and cozy lounges are designed for relaxation after a day spent outdoors. The hotel is surrounded by pure nature in a calm cottage area with direct access to nature paths, cross-country and snowmobile tracks. Reindeer are often seen around hotel Ylläsrinne and the northern lights are easily spotted, even from the rooms. Hotel Ylläsrinne is a private, peaceful holiday hotel located at the foot of the Ylläs fell. If you want to avoid mass tourism we are your first choice. You can choose to stay in a double room or in a four-bedded family room with added loft beds.

Reviewed By travelsalot102The hotel is located in a quiet end of the village next to some much more charming huts and houses. The room was spacious, quiet, with nice shower. Water pressure was good. The sauna is well taken care off, but open only 16 to 20. We enjoyed the generous breakfast offered.

Experience the local and delicious, homemade food, traditional sauna, safaris and activities in nature. Hotel location is calm and comfortable by lake Yllasjarvi which enables you to start the snowmobile safaris from the door steps of the hotel. Skiing tracks and snowshoeing starts from the hotel and the ski center is only 4 km away.
Nice, comfortable, if rather basic, ski lodge
Reviewed By Jonathan VThis lodge is basic, 2-star as billed, but for all that warm, comfortable, and friendly. The rooms are spartan with no TV etc. but good beds, hot water, decent showers. Frankly when there for winter activities (which can be had in abundance as there is a tour office on site and you can rent skis etc.) this is all you need. Breakfast is filling but not fancy and evening meal is slightly eclectic buffet mix but essentially fine. This hotel is opposite the lake with fine views in clear weather and right next to the start of a long long cross-country ski run. For people addicted to wifi this hotel might not satisfy as it is slow and you can only really hook up from the reception and dining areas. But lets face it you'll be here for the snow and outdoor pursuits!

Geweldig land
Reviewed By Paul DWeek geboekt in yllas vakantiewoningen huisjes zijn zeer divers wij hadden een 6 pers twee onder een kap woning ( volledig hout) volledig ingericht . Enigste nadeel is elke dag lopen naar supermarkt ongeveer 2 km of skipistes 2.5km .maar de natuur is schitterend en ook veel excursies gedaan via (destenation Lapland).en met een beetje geluk zie je het noorderlicht al met al geweldige vakantie gehad
