My wife and I visited yesterday evening. It was very busy and we were very lucky to get a table. We were greeted by a friendly bar man who happened to be Scottish. We were warned that it could be a 45 min wait. But OMG, it was definitely worth waiting for. Excellent food. I had satay and my wife had salmon. Great choice of beers too at reasonable prices compared to other places in the design district. We have been staying directly across the street from the bar for 4 days before we decided to give it a try. We did wonder why so many people were going there when the bar next door is empty. Well, now we know. We will be going back before heading back to Scotland. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in Helsinki.

This pub has one of the most varied selection of national and international beers I have seen. The food is really only snack food but does the job. Really great bar staff that are friendly and helpful with advice on beer selection. Make sure you ask the alcohol content on the beers...some are very strong. Some of these stronger beers make my legs walk a different direction from my body. This pub, not sure if the rest of Helsinki pubs do the same, has a hardcore clientele of board game players that really get hammered into drinks such as Coca Cola, free tap water and the occasional real beer. These board game players are all very respectful but sometimes , only now and again, get a bit rowdy when someone throws the triangle shaped dice a bit too hard causing it to hit off someone's free tap water glass. The mirth this causes within these gamers almost made me laugh ...once. Please don't do what I did and pretend to understand what they are doing. ALMOST FATAL! These people knew I was a " non nerd" and spoke some of their secret coded gamer language ( it wasn't Finnish) . Just let them get on with their multi board and triangle dice games and no one gets hurt. It's a massive pub with two entrances. Each of the bars sell different beers and wines. If you don't find what your looking for in one bar then go round to the other. Like most of the Nordic countries it's pricey...not as bad as Bergen, Norway, but nowhere else is. Who do the Bergen Norwegians think they are? Bergen is lovely but I won't be back...no matter how much they plead. It's a no ! A few tv's ( televisions) dotted around the bar that was showing the World Cup when I was there. Great pub.
