Things to do in Laurel
The restaurant management changed about 2 months ago and we decided to see how the food, prices, portion sizes, tastes changed, if at all. Changes when you walk in is the disappearance of the previous staff, the soda fountain machine, and the hot tea while you wait for your order. The menus design changed a little, but with many price increases and some changes to the dishes offered on the coupons when you reach the same price points as before. Since prices increased you may say it's easier to get free dishes, but some of the dishes offered changed to a less expensive choice, such as a previous free Chicken Lo Mein now a free Vegetable Lo Mein. Portion sizes are fine, and the taste seems to be just a little less flavorful...good but not as good as before. We would like a more cheery greeting upon arrival. Still, until a better option is found based on some combination of location, prices, quality, and portion size, we will return to Asian One again.

The portions are large, consistent, and tasty. Great lunch specials! and...they have never made a mistake on a "special" order.

Went here as part of a group tour. Our waitstaff was quite rude, had a real attitude problem, unapproachable, was not helpful. Everything was trouble to her, even providing water. She also made me move tables so I was sitting alone rather than with the group for no reason at all. Large buffet selection of average quality however was let down by the lack of ice cream that usually abundant at these types of places.

Having recently returned from a trip from Southern California and given that my friends/family went out of town, and also having reasonably good experiences at the nearby Teppanyaki Grill at Laurel Lakes, I'd decided to give the other main buffet in the area a go, after waiting a few weeks due to a power outage. First off, the server was very orderly and helpful, and the place seemed clean, even if the ambiance wasn't quite as appealing as the sleeker Teppanyaki location. The trouble is, at $12.50 instead of $10 over there, I expected somewhat better food quality. Boy, I was disappointed, with the biggest being the sesame chicken, which tasted so dry and undercooked, that I couldn't eat it completely! The sushi was just cold and felt dry, a big letdown from all the great sushi on the west coast trip and I've had better at the local Giant. Even the desserts were rather bland. Overall, if you can't find an all-you-can-eat establishment elsewhere, eat here with low expectations, but otherwise, either pay a little extra for better quality or head over to Teppanyaki.

Right at the corner of EASTBOUND Rt198 and southbound RT1. Next to a 5 guys burger place. This visit was good, parking easy with nice employees. Food was cooked good and the place looked clean. I did go a little early 1130/so there was no line. No complaints this time. All good, get the two item combo, plenty of food

The Mandarin House has been around for quite awhile and has a great reputation! I've NEVER had a bad meal from there. I typically order the Singapore Noodles and the Crispy Beef. Both of these dishes are absolutely delicious. Plenty of shrimp, chicken and pork in the Singapore Noodles and the beef in the Crispy Beef dish is very tender. I've also tried the Lemon Chicken and the Sesame Chicken. Both of these dishes are also very tasty. Mandarin House will always be my first choice for Chinese food in the Laurel area.
