Reviewed By 245brettaOur experience was nothing short of wonderful. Will give you the nuts and bolts of how well you are taken care of. You pull up, greeted with smiles and them asking you do you have any questions. When you walk in to check in, that process took less than 5 minutes. I usually stay at Quality Inn & Suites but no longer. This place is very clean, up to date, and the staff, particularly Harry, is eager to please. My family has stayed at this hotel three times now and we enjoy the place to it's fullest. Most importantly they recently remodeled their rooms so it looks brand new.

Great Lakes Inn & Suites is a small reasonable priced motel located 1.5 miles form downtown South Haven. The beach is approximately seven minutes drive from the property. All rooms are equipped with a microwave and a mini fridge. Property, also has a season Indoor pool.
My Credit Card was hacked days after staying here
Reviewed By 67BobMI have a credit card I only use for places I think might be "iffy" in regards to the security of my personal data. Days after staying here, I had someone charge almost 500 buck worth of stuff at Victoria's Secret, and about 200 bucks at DSW Shoes. Since Great Lakes was the only charge made on this card in over a year, it was not too hard to figure out where the info breach most likely occurred. Room itself was clean(ish) - Definitely in need of a few repairs but I have stayed in worse places. Carpet was damp, as if from a recent, crappy cleaning job.....The lingering odor of cigarettes seemed to emanate from the damp carpet. The wifi access was practically nonexistent and 100% unsecured (so I did not use it anyway). I can confirm other reports there WERE down-and-out looking individuals that appeared to be actually living at the motel (211 Motel Voucher Program participants, maybe?). Staying a second night at this motel was out of the question (we ended up spending the balance of the vacation at the Hampton Inn across town, which was well worth it - exponentially better than the Great Lakes Inn. look forward to returning to South Haven, but will never stay at Great Lakes Inn & Suites again. What mother always said is true: "You get what you pay for".

Reviewed By rebbartlettThis was an example of something like a rooming house with the exception that everyone had their own bathroom and there was no kitchen only a microwave and mini refrigerator. It is masquerading as a motel but is long term living for individuals and families.

Reviewed By ericknor75Was pleasantly surprised by the updated room. Wasn't expecting much. Definitely worth the money. Bring more pillows if you need them, and also a hair dryer if needed. Had a microwave and fridge. A/C worked great. Not an exceptional place, but a good night sleep and hot shower. Nice family that owns it too. Room was very clean.
