Great hostel

Reviewed By kathrynhcp22

We really liked staying here, the breakfast was great, the staff very friendly, and it’s well-located. The wifi is super reliable and fast. We would recommend that if you’re light sleepers you request a room further from communal areas. Ours was next to the stairway and kitchen and it could get noisy. Of course, this is in no way the fault of the hostel!

Amazing Uyuni tour with Santos

Reviewed By 133marijnh

We were staying in the hostel in Tupiza when we found out they offer 4 day Uyuni tours as well. We booked it together with another couple staying in the hostel and were so happy we did. Our guide, Santos, was amazing!! Santos runs the hostel with his wife and is very passionate and knowledgeable about the Tupiza/Uyuni area, the wildlife, Bolivian culture and anything else you want to know. He went above and beyond to give us a great experience. Preparing great local meals while we were still sleeping and best of all making sure we arrived everywhere before the crowds without ever feeling rushed. Note that the whole tour was in Spanish, though he does speak a little English as well. The 'extra' day driving from Tupiza before joining the route of the other tours starting from Uyuni was very beautiful and definitely worth it. All in all we had a great experience and cannot recommend Los Salares and Santos enough.

Tactic Stay

Reviewed By spacefaco

My girlfriend and I have been in this hotel for 2 nights (end of April 2019), in order to get used to the altitude before a tour for the Salar. Honestly, the hotel was not very nice and below expectation, especially the bathroom. Our room was just over the entrance of the hotel, over the street. It was very hard to sleep after the 6.30 am for the great noise. The breakfast was nothing special. However, it has been very handy for booking nice experiences, horse riding and Salar de Uyuni tour. Therefore, we recommend a stay here without high expectations.

A good cheaper alternative foe copples.

This place is the cheaper alternative from Mitru Hotel. I was here allone but if you are a copple it's better the price is per room. It's good friendly good breakfast realley good wifi, tv , cheared bathrooms are small. It's a half block from main street and you are allowed to use the swmming pool in Mitru hotel.

Refugio Del Turista

Good basic budget stay

Reviewed By GlynCarre

Basic solid stay, recommended if you don't wish to pay too much. I reserved via a popular BOOKINGS website and got a private room/shared bathroom for US$8.25 per night. Room was clean if basic, bathroom good and hot water fine. Ownership is same as Tupiza Tours and Hotel Mirtu. After a day-to-day with TT I was able, as a Refugio guest, to use the pool and Wi-Fi at the main hotel (both good). No Wi-Fi attached Refugio. All said a great budget stay.
