Aggravating

We had difficulty crossing the border into Chile, so we arrived here late and Josie was very kind and helpful, even if she did give us all the wrong information concerning buses, schedules and necessary room changes. The following day was a carnival celebration so there were no buses. We had to stay another night. The blonde girl who works the day shift was rude and unhelpful and told us we needed to change rooms. We wanted to have breakfast first. They rushed us to change rooms, so we packed up and moved. Then, the same girl who had refused to call the bus company for me, told us that they made a mistake and we had to move everything back. We are senior citizens and we had to climb three flights of stairs. Our room was adequate. Breakfast was poor. The location is good. I cannot recommend this place.

Boicot this people!

I have been in Bolivia few weeks back and this was the most inappropriate place I have been by far. What was deluding? The way the local management (apparently a man and his wife) deliberatelly cheat on us. Once arrived, before checking in, we saw a big group arriving and being assigned to the normal rooms even before us. As we were numerically less important to them, not only we had to wait despite arriving earlier, but also we have been told to be awarded with the premium coral suite... it was an improvised room with no heating source and no water. Even the local guide and the driver the day after told us to have never heared about that room... when we clearly asked for a decent room for which we paid, we have been told that all the rooms are similar and that the hotel was fully booked. Really, this is a way to repeal turism.

RUDE AND RACIST!

Reviewed By Burak D

Owner was very rude. He made racist remarks. They wrote a 24-hour check-in service on their booking page. This means you can come and check in at night. I also stated in 3 separate messages that I will be arriving late. I sent these messages at an early hour. They asked me to pay an extra night for this. Their behavior was very ugly. They didn't even look at me when I asked something. They didn't answer. They just ran into Spanish with a stern tongue. Because I know little Spanish, I understood their racist statements. Since I didn't have a place to go at night, I had to accept it. In the morning, I woke up and said that I wanted to pay for 1 night and that I wanted to check out. I told them to cancel my reservation from the booking system. They spoke harshly to me in Spanish. I said that I did not understand, that I knew little Spanish. Then I repeated what I wanted and went to my room. The owner of the hostel came and fired me. They said things in Spanish behind my back. Do not stay here. These people are racist and rude. I will write this complaint all over the place. I have been traveling for 5 years. I have traveled to 20 countries. I have stayed in dozens of hotels and hostels. I have never met such rude people. El dueño fue muy grosero. Hizo comentarios racistas. No te quedes aquí. Estas personas son racistas y groseras. Escribiré esta queja por todos lados. He estado viajando durante 5 años. He viajado a 20 países. Me he alojado en decenas de hoteles y hostales. Nunca he conocido gente tan grosera.

Avoid this place

Reviewed By KyleMchenry

The hotel Residencial La Cabaña, we stayed at for a few days is no way honest. We had stayed 2 nights & already paid for 3 when we went on a tour. The tour had complications, so we were delayed a day. The hotel claims to have held our room ( which we vacated completely), when we went on 3 day tour. When returned they would NOT let us stay, or give our money back for an empty room. The hotel is not full, so it's just a criminal activity. We had issues a few times with the man at the desk, who shows his anger easily. I even stopped his place from burning down when I noticed the fire was on the stove, but the door locked. He doesn't comprehend or acknowledge his fault in NOT checking the fires were OFF. We simply wanted a refund or to stay the night so we can take the bus the next day. But the OWNER is not able to even compromise if we pay MORE. He seems to love his low rating and the over hyped international tourism, which brings him steady, business. Don't stay here its dirty, freezing cold and the people are cold, and I don't speak if just the hotel, but our experience at La Residencial Cabana, was a terrible example.

Ok hotel....

Reviewed By Susan L

The hotel is located a few minutes walk from all the restaurants and shops. The room is ok, old whit wall-to-Wall carpet and on the walls to. The bed is little hard but ok. Pillows are good and the bathroom is big whit hot water all the time. It’s cleaner then many other hotels in Bolivia. Breakfast is small whit bread, yogurt, juice and te/coffee but nothing to put on the bread like ham or cheese... BUT do not submit clothes for laundry, it’s over priced and the hotel try’s to scam you! About 6kg cost 348 boliviano but after an argument the hotel said that it must have been a computer error??? We still paid 174 boliviano, to much!!!
