It takes a big teritory but quite a mess. Had a nice pica and beer, waiters are runing. Still a good place in mekele.

Excellent value, extremely friendly helpful waiters, and delicious food.These guys make the best Shiro Tegamino I've tasted in all of Ethiopia. They also make a great goat soup. I went to Karibu Kitchen (the best restaurant in Mek'ele according to reviews on tripadvisor) and frankly I consider it pretty overpriced. Both times I went to Abay Cultural Restaurant there were no other travellers but plenty of locals. It was definitely the best restaurant I found in Mek'ele. To find Abay Cultural Restaurant: Walk North along Hahefen St; turn right just after Zebra Cafe; there's a green sign pointing down the first left turn; follow this alley past the bingo-players and it's on your right.

Beef MN Garden is a new café/restaurant in the middle of Makalle. It has a completely open plan, without walls except to the street, with some of the seating outside in the courtyard and some under the roofed portion. The open plan provides a pleasant atmosphere. The kitchen is open, there is a bar, the food was good and Ethiopian coffee is available. There is a huge TV screen for those who want to watch football. Beef MN Garden is a welcome addition to the eating options in the middle of Makalle.
