Made a reservation on booking.com that was cancellable until 6pm. Got there at 1pm and was first told I couldn’t cancel, then that the wifi was too bad to cancel, and was then asked to pay them to cancel. Went up the hill to another hostel and cancelled the reservation there. Would absolutely not recommend, the staff were super sketchy.

Beautiful View

Reviewed By 1084lilianc

So, hi again is that time of the year when I can write about hotels and hostels...yes, I'm on vacation mode...and this time I went to Bolivia, Isla del Sol. Beautiful place, very quiet and if you like nature you will love it. I spent the night in this beautiful place Inti Wayra, my room #8 the one with he most spectacular view of the Lake Titicaca, the room is very nice, the decoration loveeeed it. There is a book where you can leave your comments (I asked for a sign on the house), the person who is in charge, José, very nice man. He made me an amazing breaksfast and a coca tea to die for. This is a very very good option if you want to stay there.

Charm. Charm. Charm.

Reviewed By Ahbutz

Hotel ratings should be adjusted for their environments. If this hotel were in my neighborhood in San Diego, California where tourism standards are high, I would give this hotel a one, or at best a two. This hotel has no heating - despite the fact that the night time temperatures often fall into the 40's and even the 30's Fahrenheit. This hotel has limited hot water - which is due to the fact that the water is heated above in tanks run through solar panels. This hotel has no closet for clothes, no room safe, no phone, no tv, and so on. What this hotel has though- is charm, charm, charm. This hotel is on a small island, an island with no cars, motorcycles, or engine driven vehicles on any kind. It's in the middle of a lake that is over 12,000 feet in elevation, a lake with no ships or modern sailing vessels. Domestic donkeys and llamas roam the trails. The trails were built nearly a thousand years ago. This hotel offers an escape from wherever you were from to a very special place that was very special to people who lived here hundreds and thousands of years before. It was here that one of the few times in my life that I could hear nothing - absolutely nothing. And see absolutely nothing - except pure natural beauty. This place is special and this hotel enhances the aura you feel when you arrive. The room we got was like the others here, an independent unit high above the lake with incredible views of Lake Titicaca and the islands and spectacular mountains. Our room had three large picture windows on two adjacent walls that allowed us to enjoy the sunset and sunrise. But for the evening rain, we would have seen the starry sky from our room, that this place is known for. We were told that the hotel was up about 10 months ago. Everything appeared new and everything appeared spotlessly clean. The room furnishings were simple but exuded a charm reminiscent of mountain chalets of the Alps. The bed was small - a full or queen size, but had thick coverings to keep you warm. Sonia runs the place for her family and keeps a nice restaurant and lobby near the bottom of the property, with large windows offering incredible views of the lake. The rooms are independly stacked up the hill on each side allowing each unit spectacular views. The boat dock is a few hundred feet below and a few other similar hotels can be seen to the side and below. Sonia provides a great breakfast and dinnner. Choices are quite limited but the offerings are really good. Her milk and juice drinks are like smoothies without the sweet sugar taste, her matte de coca has fresh, loose, whole leaves, and her trucha (locally farmed fish) is excellent and recommended. And her soups are perfect after that long day of hiking and boating across the lake. But caution. There is a long rather steep walk up the steps to the hotel from the boat dock. Anyone should be able to make it unless they have some medical problem. We are a couple in our later 60's and had no problem, although we took our time and breathed hard.

Good place to spend a night or two

Reviewed By MarsieZ

Spent 3 nights here and the views of the harbour with its daily routines and rituals was entertaining. The place is very clean, friendly and comfortable with great views. Be aware of the climb to the “pueblo” where you have more choice of eateries. My wife and I could only manage one climb per day. The life at the lake level is very quiet after about6pm Sonya be difficult to find somewhere to eat, although our hostel was always ready to cook us dinner off the menu even if we were the only ones! Be also aware that the nort south split is very real and you will not be allowed to pass the red flag post about 300m nort of the Yumani pueblo. My wife and I took an alternate route and found ourselves in a bit of hot water coming back across the conventional path. The walls are amazing! Just take your time given the altitude!!

Mejor hostal en mi estadía en Bolivia ??

Reviewed By ornellarv

Hostal Wara Uta

Lovely hostel, bit of a trek.

Reviewed By mollytheblog

This hostel is a little bit of a trek - it took us about an hour from Yumani port with our big rucksacks on. However it was a very nice place to stay, clean rooms, a hot shower and a good breakfast (bread, an egg cooked however you'd like and a fresh fruit salad). Also - it's very close to Las Velas which is a lovely restaurant with a good view. The next morning we only had to walk 10 minutes to the Mirador, so although it had been a long walk up to the hostel at least we only had to do it once!

Posada Del Inca Eco-Lodge

The charming Posada del Inca Eco-Lodge is located at the top of the Sun Island and surrounded by pastoral sceneries and the majesty of the snowed peaks of the Andes. This is one of a few places on earth where you can still breathe the authenticity of an unspoiled nature. This old restored Hacienda has 20 rooms, all with modern facilities: electric blankets, private bath, hot water, individual heating and the most breathtaking panorama of the Sacred Lake Titicaca. In the old Lounge & Bar enjoy the warm and cozy atmosphere with the dancing flames of the fire place. This -lost in time and space- paradise can be reached through our modern Hydrofoils cruises.

Spectacular!!!

Reviewed By I9590MMdiegos

This ecolodge is located in a privileged place in the Island of the Sun, a sacred site, the origin of the Inca empire. In the middle of Titicaca Lake, this spiritual, mystical and full of energy site is the perfect place to spend a peaceful time, nature surrounded. The sightseen of Titicaca and Andes mountains at sunrise, as well at sunset, are simply spectacular. Crillon Tours, the owner of the facilities, is a very experienced tour operator, the best for a Titicaca Lake and islands tour. Accommodations at Posada del Inca are all you can expect from a world class ecolodge; cousy, comfortable at a high quality. Service is almost personalized and food has that special homemade taste. If you are about to visit this sacred lake, Posada del Inca is a must. If you are looking for spiritual mystic sites, Island of the Sun is the perfect place. Even if you are not planning none of them, you should come, it is a life time experience.
