Las Velas

Reviewed By Carmela A - Vancouver, Canada

Visitors recommend catching the sunset here. There were too many clouds to see one properly. Instead we caught thunder and lightning over the lake...and it was still amazing to see.
First come, first serve. It's a cozy little restaurant with no electricity. You eat by candlelight. Even the chefs cook wearing headlights. Besides, the candles keep the room warm from the cold heavy rain outside.
You have to be patient to wait for your meal that can take up to 2 hours to cook. There are only two chefs, your food prepped once you order, and this was a busy night..we gave up our separate table and joined our other friends to help accommodate a couple, and others had to be turned away.
The food was basic, but very homey. For me, it was the first properly delicious meal I felt hungry for after loss of appetite from acclimating in high altitude. It's a bit pricier compared to general meals from other restaurants, but the effort and dining experience is part of the value.

Inca Sama

This restaurant is certainly the best in this island. -- The first thing that catches your eyes is the view of the Beaches under the steeps, the blue lake and of course the Andes Mountains in the horizon.
- The cost of everything in the menu is good and low.
- The dishes are really fresh.
- There are many options with trout from the Lake Titicaca.
- Staff are really nice and polite.
- They are always welcome to discuss about anything you want in the dishes.
- Weather in the island is normally good, so there is no problem to have a meal outside of the restaurant.
- Even the breakfast is good (Only the coffee that is very weak and watery).
- And again, the view is perfect.
So, if you are in this Isla del Sol, at least one meal you should have in this restaurant.

Pizzeria Inti Wasi

A nice little place attached to our hostel. The owner looked after us very well despite being rushed off his feet by our ridiculous orders! Definitely pop in for a pizza one night, great view of the lake too.

Albergue Restaurante Inca Sama

Inti Jalanta

Reviewed By Dom_Smith12 - Birmingham, United Kingdom

Inti Jalanta is situated on the top of the hill from the harbour, in the village of Yumani. It has views stretching across the water, taking in the harbour. The drinks here are good, especially the fresh juices. The trout is very good( freshly caught from the lake I believe) and has many different flavouring options. Would recommend.
