Dallimonti's Italian Restaurant

I remember places like this growing up in New York. Everybody is friendly and relaxed, but service is still quick and efficient. The menus are blackboards that they bring to the table, with the night's offerings. We started with martins, which were generous, and our waitress was happy to let us sit with our drinks for a while before coming back to take our order. Lots of traditional Italian dishes (pasta Bolognese, lasagna, etc.) but also some house specialties, seafood dishes and less common meals such as cannoli. Like an old fashioned restaurant, the salad and the minestrone come family style, along with some excellent bread. I ordered the house special cannoli, which was very good with lighter, northern Italian style flavors. My wife had a chicken parmesan, which was flavorful, with nice parmesan crust without being gooey like pizza. At the end of the meal they brought a really good bread pudding. Soup, salad, bread and bread pudding are all included in the price of the entrée. They also have a nice wine list, with really quite reasonable prices for the California wines, somewhat higher for the Italians.Last time we were in our waitress told us that they were closing for renovations and change of ownership come January, 2016. We have our fingers crossed that things will be the same when they re-open!

My wife and I finally tried this restaurant. We love Mediterranean food but had yet to find a place in the area that we liked. We finally found one. We both had the chicken kebab plates. They were cooked to order and were delicious. Fortunately, we arrived very hungry, because there was a lot of food. Charcoal broiled chicken perfectly cooked, wonderful rice, hummous, salad and yogurt. Yum. The chef, who is Turkish, really knows his stuff. Not to be missed is the baklava. The owner said that we had to try it, but we were skeptical. All too often they are sticky, overly sweet lumps. These baklavas are the best we've had.

Just had pizza there tonight and found it to be really average. Price was 28 dollars for a 16 inch "the usual" pizza from the menu, We were really hungry and got enough to eat but the bland sauce and unremarkable toppings placed it low on the list. Nice waitress good service limited atmosphere. Not much to recommend here. Won't be back. There has to be better places around. Maybe some of their other dishes are good but after trying the pizza I'm not hopeful.

...and that's no easy task! =) My dad has never been profuse with his praise. A "glowing" compliment from him might be, "Eh. That's not that bad." And you, Pizza My Way, earned the much coveted, "Hey! This is actually good! This is as good as Melo's!" Those are some big words from my dad seeing as he has known Carmelo, the original owner of Melo's Pizza, since the 1960s. I remember eating at Melo's before they moved into their "new" building in the mid-80s. We'll still be a Melo's Family, but Pizza My Way has worked its way into my heart...and my stomach as well! Yum! We'll have to switch up the pizza rotation to include Pizza My Way sometimes now too! =)The nitty gritty: We had the Chicken Masterpiece Pizza and it was a masterpiece indeed! LOVED the twisted crust and the seasoning of the pizza. Much more flavorful than the standard pizza fare. Delivery came in just 45 minutes, instead of the promised hour. Nice touch! We will be repeat customers!Note to Pizza My Way Management: I called once before about a year and was told that you guys only delivered to Pleasant Hill. Even though my house is technically in Lafayette, it is only a quarter mile from Pleasant Hill Elementary. At that time I was told that you guys couldn't deliver. But this time, I was told that you deliver to a five mile radius of your store. Much better! Thank you! I live 4.2 miles away from your shop, even though I don't live in Pleasant Hill. Thanks for relaxing the P.Hill only rule. We get good pizza delivered, and you get our business! Win-win! =)

Hi gang, Zio Fraedos was offering a scrumptious menu for Mother’s Day. Food was excellent, ambiance in dining area basic. The knockout is the hallway has a fine Disney artifacts from 70+ years ago, a real humdinger of a collection. The only hiccup during this dining experience was when I discovered the salad contained Gorgonzola (I’m not a blue cheese fan) so I asked for a salad sans cheese. The waiter muffled an audible grunt as if I insulted his cheese making talents. Tacky response in my mind, otherwise a good meal. I’ve only been there a couple times but every time the cuisine was very good, definitely worth repeat visits.Rich

Yesterday my husband and another couple ate lunch at Wise Girl. We have been steady customers since the restaurant opened. The service, the staff and the food are great! We have never had a meal that we have not enjoyed! The menu, though, selective, is well thought out with something for everyone. Items range from pastas, chicken, beef, fish to salads and sandwiches. The desserts are also very tasty! I love the bread and olive oil dip that comes while we are deciding what to order. The bar drink menu is very extensive! We love being served by Cara! She can concoct any cocktail and is very warm and friendly! We love their calamari and their seafood soup! The salads are always fresh and delicious. The portions are large. Usually we end up with a doggie bag or two! We love that it is a local neighborhood hang out! Regulars come in and they know exactly what they want. It is also quiet enough at lunch to have a great conversation. We have been there for dinner, too. The menu remains the same for both lunch and dinner. It is a great restaurant for the price, service and atmospheres.

Not many small local deli/sandwich shops around these days. Lots of deli items--salads and such, though the sandwiches take a back seat to Canesa's in Clayton. We have been buying their potato salad for parties here for decades. Good service.

We went there twice while visiting the area. The first time I ordered the carbonara and a salad. The carbonara was the best I’ve had. The second time I ordered the tomato basil soup. Omg what a great soup. They put croutons in it also and it totally adds to the flavor. For dinner I ordered a chicken fettuccine type dish but wasn’t called that exactly. It was so yummy. I did have a chance to try there pizza also but the pasta is way better but the pizza isn’t too bad either
