Sitting in a valley in the Andes Mountains, La Paz is the city that touches the clouds. The de facto capital of Bolivia, and sitting between 3300 and 4100 meters above sea level, La Paz is the highest capital city in the world. Rich with 19th century churches, museums of artifacts from the pre-Conquest era, precarious overlooks, and colorful markets, La Paz is truly unique. The Witches’ Market, in the center of the city, sells charms and potions for Aymara rituals, as well as souvenirs.

Mixed drinks or cocktails are decent (although they have a good variety of beers, so I definitely go for those) and the food is very good. We ordered chicken wings with a sweet chili (spicy!) sauce and onion rings that were delicious but took over 30min to arrive. The fry batter they use is really crunchy and the wings were saucy but not soggy, perfect! Just make sure you are emotionally ready to wait for the food.

I am not a professional reviewer, and this is just my opinion. My wife and I have dined in this restaurant several times, in addition to having breakfast there as hotel guests. In all honesty, we have not been tempted to eat anywhere else while in La Paz, which is one of the weirdest cities we have visited. It's not that we would feel unsafe, but traffic is just insane, and after our first dinner there we did not think we needed to go anywhere else. The dining room is large and airy, with a modernistic look and non intrusive music piped from Bose speakers. In any case, most if not all main courses include a trip at the salad bar, which in addition to a variety of greens and lettuce offers the always delicious soup of the day and a four or five varieties of desserts. For many people (including my wife) that would be enough for a meal. The entrees are quite generous in size - in particular the "Parrillada Especial" offers eight different kinds of meats could easily feed two people. The only negative comment I would make is that, on two occasions there was no sides to the entree, not sure why. There are a number of Bolivian traditional dishes and a good selection of entrees, including seafood and pasta, which should satisfy all tastes. The wine list is smallish and could include more selections, even if the emphasis is on Bolivian wines. Service was friendly and efficient, no complains there. Finally, I should mention that prices are extremely reasonable for a restaurant of this caliber. Very highly recommended.Dear Apiquet,Thank you very much for your time for leave such a complete opinion. It is a pleaseure to know that you enjoyed all the details and services in suites Camino Real. Every detail is thinking of you.I was a pleasure having you as a guest, we hope to have you back with our best attentions.Best Regards.Hector Salinas

You really don't expect to find a place like this in a city like La Paz... Very cool atmosphere with an industrial theme. Stayed for a nightcap and ordered a Whisky Sour which was on point. A hidden gem, give it a look!

Stopped off here for lunch with my partner. Asked if we could pay card and was told yes.Something smelt really good. Asked barman/waiter what it was and he said it was the potato and leek soup.Ordered the soup and two mains. They all came out at the same time which was annoying but forgivable. The soup was definitely not what we could smell coming from the kitchen, so that was also frustrating.Chicken was tough and chewy.Chips were good.Stake and ale pie was decent.Once we finished we waited over 20 mins for our table to be cleared. The bar was empty. When we went to pay with the card their machine wasn't working. Tried twice but no connection. Had to walk to a cash machine. My advice. Try somewhere else. Thanks for your visit Carrick, we are sorry about all inconvenience and will love to know more about this. We will like to know more about what happened and who serve you. All our soups and other meals are freshly made, ingredients are freshly both on the Local market on the day. The cooks have been with us fo more that 10 years. So Please write to me at my WhatsApp +59165612038 my name is Christian and the owner, thanks again for your visit. Cheers
