I kind of have an obsession with sloths, so this was a must when we went. We got there and waited to go in. When we went in (about 15 mins later) we were brought to different areas that held different animals to include birds, spider monkeys and white faced monkeys. Our guide was really good at describing what a day in the life looks like here. They told us that when tours aren't going on, the animals are let out of their spaces and are free to roam.
They had seven sloths when we were there and we saw 4 of them. Our guide told us that the sloths are only allowed to be held by so many people before they move on to another sloth. They roam free.
Overall it was a really cool experience. We got to meet the owner too which was pretty cool.

The Tea & Chocolate Place IS NOT a restaurant nor a coffee shop. WE DO NOT SELL FOOD OR COFFEE. We are a Visitors Center open to the public only from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm from Monday to Saturday. Since 2003, we have been working as a family to reforest steep and eroded areas around Copan Ruinas. Our objective is to serve as an educational space where you can learn about environmental issues affecting the area of Copan, at the same time learn about a variety of teas and other natural products that we make from native and foreign medicinal plants organically grown in our Copan 2012 Botanical Research Station. Our center is located in a peaceful, garden-like setting with amazing views of the Mountains. We only offer a Tea Menu where you can choose from 20 different medicinal teas, or enjoy our hot chocolate beverage made from ground cacao beans (along with a small traditional local snack) while watching the sun go down. If you are hungry we recommend that you eat before, or plan for dinner after you pay us a visit !. Also, our center is located 15 minute walking distance from the Central Park. It is not far, but if you are not familiar with the town, you may get lost. We highly recommend you to take a taxi (tuc-tuc). Direcciones: Del Parque Central, dirigirse 6 cuadras norte hacia El Fuerte de Cabañas (Casa K'inich Museo Escolar). Doblar a la izquierda en Calle Yaragua y caminar aproximadamente 430 metros en Calle Yaragua (Barrio La Tejera). El Lugar del Té & Chocolate se encuentra a mano derecha. La mejor opción es tomar un moto taxi (tuc-tuc). Directions: From the Central Park, walk 6 blocks north towards El Fuerte de Cabañas (Casa K'inich Museo Escolar). Turn left on Calle Yaragua. Walk about 430 meters in Calle Yaragua (Barrio La Tejera). The Tea & Chocolate Place is located on the right side of the street.

Everything in this place from the staff - to the tea and coffee is excellent! The attention is great and they have a huge variety on teas. They also sell organic products (soaps, sanitizers etc). The place has a magical view of the copan hills and the weather is exquisite

This was well worth the price. We took excursion out of Tela for $100. Included breakfast and lunch as well as transportation to and from Tela. We were taken to several Islands. Two that we could snorkel at, one where we ate and one to swim. Crystal clear turquoise water.

Beautiful Wilderness park about 20 km outside of Tegucigalpa. The site has many kilometres of hiking trails and is terrific for bird enthusiasts, as it's an easily accessible place to see quetzals, trogons, toucans and more.

The road is very curvy, driver has to be careful or they will flat the tire ( as happens with our driver we had to change car). The park is wet, take your best shoes to walk in the mud, weather is cool bring yoursweater but when you start to sweat you willl no need it anymore xD I could not see many animal just some squirrels and a small bird. Our guide Ricardo was very helpul and knowledgeable. Bring water with you!! Recomended place.

I had the chance to meet one of the most beautiful attractions in my country Honduras, Pulhapanzak Waterfall. It's such a beautiful place, full of nature and a lot of nice people . It's pretty cheap! It's a place you must know! Come and visit us!

This April 2, 2016 visit is a second visit to the lake, with viewing/birding from a different point than the restaurant area. We walked a wide path beginning across the road from La Naranja Archaeological site. Scrub, grassland and lake birds made up a long list that included Lesser Yellow-headed Vulture, duck species, Northern Jacana, Black-necked Stilt, Purple and Common Gallinules, Red-billed and Short-billed Pigeon, Ruddy Ground-Dove, Lesser Nighthawk, Barred Antshrike, Common Tody-Flycatcher, Painted Bunting, Blue Grosbeak, Orchard and Baltimore Oriole. We were led by William Orellana and Katinka Domen of Beaks and Peaks Birding and Adventure Tours.

Copan Ruinas valley of Kings, Sacred Valley of the Red Scarlet Macaw. Copan Ruinas is an ancient city in the mayan Empire. Located in western Honduras at just under 10 minutes from the border with Guatemala el Florido. More than 138,000 visitors came here in 2017, the lowest in years but with a slight increase in traffic in comaprison to 2015. | Many agree the bad condition of the road play an important role to this lack of traffic. Hopefully in 2018 will be better.

I went for a weekend birthday getaway to Copan Ruinas with my brother, brother in law and his sister. The ruins are absolutely beautiful. Make sure to get there early so you can take your time. The cost of entry is approximately 40 US dollars per person however you get to access the ruins, the tombs, the tunnels and 2 museums. Totally worth it. Make sure to have your camera ready because the views from the top are absolutely breath taking and if you like birds, you’re in for a real treat because the Macaws are gathered in groups. Completely unreal.

West Bay Beach is a beautiful spot, but much too busy for its own good!. The people of Roatan are fantastic. I didn't have a single negative experience with a "local" the entire week we spent in Roatan. The beach, however, is overrun with tourists...many of whom have very little respect for the natural wonder they are enjoying. The section of Mesoamerican Reef that runs along this beach is in rough shape! I was dismayed to see many tourists standing on the coral in the shallow waters just meters off the beach. When I ventured out with my snorkeling gear, the destruction of the coral was immediately evident. Much of it has been destroyed. The inner reef was in sad condition, but the outer reef was still pristine...it was too deep for ignorant tourists to stand on. Perhaps if the thousands of people brought to the area by cruise ships each day were better educated before arriving, the destruction would be reduced. I enjoyed my time here but was also saddened by the experience.

This museum is the best that downtown Tegucigalpa has to offer. Very informative exhibits provide an excellent overview of Honduran history, with genuine artifacts and interesting photos. It is small, but even my teens enjoyed it. Our English-speaking guide explained the highlights and did not gloss over some of the more tragic aspects of History, pointing out the promissory note for the Honduran railway that was never built (the president at the time stole the 25 million British Pounds, then the country labored for decades to repay the loan anyway). There is a lot of modern art that is lost on a foreigner, but do make this one of your first stops in Tegucigalpa.
