Not recommendable

Good location, howeever a few negative points. 1:Rooms are small and cleaning is not great. 2: The cabins are not private so we could hear our neighbors snoring. 3: It was raining through our roof, so the whole room was quite soggy. 4: No extra blankets so it was quite cold. 5: Food was overpriced and not great, fries were good though. 1 night was more than enough, I recommend finding somewhere else and just come for the park.

A breathtaking Experience!!!

The views are Amazing, but the warm hospitality from Gaby and Jochen exceeded our expectations. Every meal was made fresh and with the best ingredients. Our recommendation is Chef's choice or request the "Spatzle" you will thank us later. We had great conversations over dinner with Gaby and Jochen and had the best Zacapa old fashions. We highly suggest to visit the town of San Juan and use the public boats to get around. We are already planning our next adventure to Atitlan and looking forward to staying and visiting our new Friends at El Picnic.

Hotel Reserva Natural Atitlan

The giant caldera that made Lake Atitlan and it's three volcanoes frame the experience of nature on the nature trails, the hanging bridges or perched on the highest zip line. The two courses of zip lines fly of waterfalls, a coffee grove, the oak stands and the steep cliffs that guard the lake. In the Butterfly Geodome you can enjoy the colors and forms of hundreds of butterflies surrounded by flowers and the sounds of water. Surrounded by humming birds and the murmur of the river, you can take a break and have lunch, coffee or a drink and then continue to explore the diversity and beauty of this natural wonder. At night, the crickets, owls and the sounds of the night will be your company in our lodgings.

Terrible experience, prepare to be by yourself with no assistance whatsoever

So for a $100/night hostel it is terrible. The natural reserve is nice but thats it, you are better off going for a day and touring around the butterfly reserve and mountain trails. Stayed there on a business trip, no one mentioned the restaurant closes at 15hrs and opens again at 8am of the next day. Went down from my room to have dinner at around 18:30 and there was no one around other than the security guard who was nice enough to help me order from the only restaurant that delivers there (the hostel is a bit off town). Oh also, I got fleas on my mattress and found out till the next day that saw all the bites in my body. The colleague I was with, got two bats inside his room at night.

DIFFERENT, BUT NICE STAY

Reviewed By EMILE D

The hotel has a unique concept in Guatemala, developed by the same company as Hotel Casa Santo Domingo, which is undoubtedly the best in La Antigua. The idea was very good, to use campers for rooms, in a country environment. The rooms are the minimum size for a family. In each one there is a jacuzzi, a bathroom, two small rooms and a small kitchen. The bathroom was too small, especially the shower. There is food service to the room, too. You leave the car parked in the parking lot of Santo Domingo del Cerro and they pick you up in a cart to take you to the room. They are building some cabins that looked very nice and better accommodated and spacious, with bigger and modern bathroom, also with views to the forest. For a one time experience was fine, however I think that some details are missing to make it perfect. A nice, different stay.

Merci Manuel!!

The Yoga Forest

Conscious Living Retreat Center

Great retreat place, could just need a touch more heart and soul

Reviewed By claudiakU3151MY

We stayed here for three nights at the beginning of our trip to Guatemala. We booked a small cabana, but were placed in one of the domes instead. It was no problem, would have just been nice to informed in advance. We loved the glamping atmosphere. Toilets and showers are outdoors, so that is an experience. Some bathrooms have beautiful views over the valley to the lake. The grounds are beautiful with amazing views all around. The staff was helpful, but some of them seemed a little disinterested in their guests. We enjoyed the company of the other travellers though. Yoga classes are offered twice-daily and quality depends on the teacher - so do massage treatments. We particularly enjoyed our classes with Robin and Carlos! My massage with Robin was fantastic as well. Food is provided twice-daily, breakfast and dinner. Lunch in addition would have been nice, especially as you are quite isolated on the mountain with no other food options unless you treck down into the town of San Marcos. Local food would have been nice as well. While we were there we got lasagna, sushi and an Asian curry. It was really tasty though! We appreciated the help regarding shuttles to and from the Yoga Forest as well as the porter service to carry our luggage up and down the mountain! All in all we had an amazing experience and would recommend staying at the Yoga Forest, if you want to switch off, do meditations, yoga, treatments and participate in some of the other workshops on offer! It is a magical place ☺️
