March 26, 2018 Jasper Kershner

Brazil's former capital is renowned for its African-influenced cuisine, music and architecture. Known as "the Capital of Joy," because of its exuberant week-long Carnaval celebrations, Salvador brims with contemporary music and art amid architecture that has gone untouched since the 17th century.

Best churrasceria in town! The staff is serviceminded and very helpful. The food is great. We were served the best cheesebread at the table. Desserts are not included in the buffé, but the best so far. It's pricey but we will for sure come back!

This restaurant basically serves typical dishes like moqueca. They have seafood moqueca, shrimp moqueca and fish moqueca. They also have steaks, chicken , etc but it's not its best food. The restaurant is casual and they have women dressed like "baianas" serving the food. The price is average. Try the caipiroscas, made with vodka and typical fruits from from Bahia like seriguela but they also have strawberry and pineapple caipiroscas.

It's not only the food, it's everything; and it seems that this restaurant got it. Certainly the food is good; tasty and generous, but expensive. The ambience is great and the service is kind and alert.
A good option to keep trying more dishes from the menu.

Tereza Paim

The Casa de Tereza restaurant welcomes Bahia and tourists with the best that Bahia has to offer: its art, its beauty, its knowledge and flavors. In Casa de Tereza, the visitor experiences a stylish Bahia, full of historical content and artistic expressions everywhere. In addition, the restaurant has one small store, named after his father's name and his grandfather, Samuel and Toto, it is marketed many Bahian typical gifts.

Disappointment come due to high expectations.
The restaurant architecture and design are beautiful in a lovely Rio Vermelho neighbourhood.
The moqueca (fish and shrimps) was regular (quality & quantity);
There are dozens of establishments in Salvador with better moqueca.
We waited almost 30 minutes for the couvert (bread & butter).
Disappointing and expensive experience.

We were in a group of friends and we only had drinks. But the special caipirinhas (prepared with cachaca Seleta) were just perfect. The staff is very nice and helpful, there's only one toilet for gents and another one for ladies, but not a big problem. They're clean nice.

Pasta em Casa

Salvador is not prodigal in Italian cuisine: they are few and from reasonable to bad. The Pasta Em Casa is an exception. The menu moves through the variations of its pastas of homemade and artisanal production. Generous dishes . Like all restaurants in Salvador, the service is amateurish and confusing. The Pasta is located in a small, cozy little house on a bucolic street in Rio Vermelho. As a small restaurant, you should be aware of possibility of waiting to be seated. In its beginning, it did only Delivery service. It has been expanding and now, 2017, it is transforming its upper floor to innovate the culinary offer. I recommend this restaurant even for Paulistas.

I joined trip advisor just to give 5 stars to this lovely restaurant in the heart of the tourist district. So glad to have the chance to head back and still find it up to the expectations I had. Food is amazing, service is amazing, prices are correct and the location is fantastic - probably the best restaurant in Pelourinho.
