Superb swimming area with less modern hotel facilities
Reviewed By EvelynErikaAlready when you're looking at prices for this stay, you notice how affordable it is versus more modern spa's. Well, you cant have both! We stayed here one week-end in September 2021 and it couldn't have been better! We loved the swimming area, the many distractions that the hotel offered and the food was good value for money, too. We stayed in a room facing the so called promenade (ie. the corridor continuing from the reception onward) and didn't hear any disturbing noises etc. Sure the surfaces and furniture are dated, but did you think this is a boutique or design hotel ? The promenade offered a beauty parlor, a small shop, a cafe, LOTs of games for kids, bowling hall etc., not to mention the outdoors and whatever Imatra and nearby Lappeenranta has to offer. This is a great stay if you're happy with swimming, being close to nature and don't have high expectations of the materialistic experience.

Reviewed By Lucky_CraftWe stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Friendly staff, spacious, clean, quiet and well-equipped rooms (wonderful bed!), decent breakfast. We were impressed by the amenities the hotel offered: bike rental, great sauna, communal kitchen, children's room and fitness/playing room. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at.

Nice hotel
Reviewed By aekrfkThere was a convention in the town we wanted to stop on our self drive tour and all the hotels were booked. We drove an extra 45 minutes to this town and Scandic hotel. We got the last room which was wheel chair accessible. We were in the newer building which is a long walk from the registration desk. If you are in the new building park your car in that lot so you do not have to walk a mile. The rooms were large and nice. Breakfast was okay. Parking was free and secure with a guard. Prices on the higher side but we did not look at other hotels.

Bit disappointing

Quite crowded place and lots of screaming and running children, so not very suitable for people seeking for relaxation. Quite pricey so it was surprising you still had to pay extra for the sauna world. And the sauna world was huge disappointment as one of the saunas was out of order, steam sauna had no steam at all and other saunas were quite ordinary. Architecturally this place is quite ordinary 2000's building, so nothing spectacular nor pretty there. The old castle hotel looks nice but new buildings kinda overshadows it, and old and new doesn't really match. And it's kinda weird that it's located near lake Saimaa but you cannot even see the lake anywhere from the spa.

Reviewed By Dmitry KVery nice place and good price Imatra (40€ per night). Staff is extremely helpful, makes you feel like you're at home. Free parking. Very quiet place provides you good sleep. As a suggestion: put small carpets in the rooms, so guests can walk with bare feet. And maybe change the linen: it leaves an impression of 100% synthetic. Can't complain for the price! 5 stars

Reviewed By Arne TI stayed in this hotel for One Night. The Room was small and the bathroom was very small. The toilet Seat was not attached to the floor which was bad. The location is Good within a shopping centre and in the city centre. I thought that the hotel breakfast was Good, but quite sparse compared with many other hotels. Everything was Good and I enjoyed it.

Ok accommodation, excellent breakfast
Reviewed By Henrietta SWe spent one night here on our bike tour. Our room had own bathroom. Everything was clean but quite worn down. Also sound isolation of the rooms was very bad- you could hear other guests talk in the neighbouring room. Guesthouse has no dinner but fish shop serves soup in the evening. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast for 10€ was excellent!! Wide selecion of good quality ingredients. Good value foe money. Remember to book breakfast in advance.
