Very worn out
Reviewed By CadhlanWouldn’t be my choice of a hotel, if it wouldn’t be the only hotel in Varkaus. The room was very worn out, smelled very very stale, there were stains in the curtains ans arm chair. Room was good size, but that’s about the good things about it. The pillows were so high, so I couldn’t use them for sleeping, had to use towel instead. Reception staff was okay, but could have been nicer and more welcoming. The best thing and big surprice of the hotel was very good breakfast buffet, with lot of selection in warm and cold dishes. It was better than in many quality hotels that I have been, so allthough the room was not what I would expect from a hotel, the breakfast was much more what I expected.

Reviewed By AnneEspooWe enjoyed the spa on arrival and departure days. 4 lanes pool, jacuzzi, cold bath, warm pool, reeducation pool with gym programs avail à from a large monitor next to the pool. Steam saunas. The facilites were all very clean, as well as the room. Go and enjoy your stay!

Recently renovated and modern hotel located right in the centre of Kuopio beside the beautiful lake of Kallavesi, making it an excellent starting point for seeing the sights of the city. The Kuopio passenger harbour and beach are located right next to our hotel, and you can find the best souvenirs from the Kuopio market place. Hotel has good Scandinavian restaurant and 8 flexible and spacious meeting rooms up to 400 persons.

Reviewed By J0rmaMNice in city center. Previous orthodox center, it seems inside in dining room. We had room 222 and it was pretty cold all nigth long, too heavy air condition without possibilitues to change it. Food was excellent tasty and personal was really helpfull.

Reviewed By HL65When you arrive, Sawohouse may not look like a traditional hotel. The buildings are surrounding a nice courtyard and there is also a large summer terrace. Staff is really friendly and takes time to pay attention to their guests. The room was quite simple but very clean and peaceful. It also had an own entrance. The breakfast was tasty and generous. Location is good, especially if you are on the move by car (free safe parking), but also a bus stop can be found just around the corner. A really nice hotel experience at a reasonable price!

Reviewed By mmikkoLocated at Puijonlaakso, a few kilometers from city center, bus stop is front of the hotel. Free parking and wifi. We stayed at economy room, own bathroom, no aircon or fridge. The room might be quite hot at summer. The reception is at third floor, the hotel is now days little bit rambling. Buffet style breakfast was served at the basement.

Reviewed By MikaK846We arrived at QP-Resort at the end of a long drive on a Friday afternoon. We immediately felt very welcome; although there were other customers at the front desk, we were all catered for. The staff was very friendly and helpful, customer service in the right place. We were booked with a family room where the two rooms were connected by a door. The rooms were very clean, spacious and the beds in the daughter's words "enchanted", as she could have continued her dreams to the afternoon if her parents had not demanded her attendance for breakfast. The rooms have new comfortable beds and, depending on the price level, either private bathrooms or toilets and showers are located in the hallway. The price is very low even in the larger and more equipped rooms. Since it was low-season, we agreed to come for breakfast at about nine o'clock (late both mornings because the beds were enchanted) and breakfast was served at the table. The coffee was delicious, the porridge perfect, the eggs were fried as desired and the table had everything you need for a good breakfast. And if I had come up with anything else, I’m sure the staff would have arranged it, they were so friendly! And the restaurant! Delicious Italian and Finnish dishes, and when bringing the menu to the table, we were reminded to ask if something was missing from the list. The pasta carbonara my daughter missed was arranged, and it was so heavenly that we all ate it for lunch the next day. Chanterelle ravioli, whitefish and salmon were so wonderfully fresh and mouth-watering. And those desserts! Homemade ice creams, a chocolate cake that melted in your mouth and such good tiramisu! In the area you will find a barbecue hut, a campfire hut, an outdoor trail with breathing exercises and great scenery on the shore of Kallavesi. We went to the sauna in the evening (just ask). The owners plan to have all kinds of services in the area, as long as they have time. I highly recommend when looking for peaceful, interesting and affordable accommodation even for a larger group!

Reviewed By Travellerak2013Very good hotel just middle of city center Kuopio. Hotel have 2 buildings connected each other with tunnel. Good and friendly service on reception. Hotel room was renovated, so that was good quality and quite quiet also. Bed was ok, not softest one but quite good. Bathroom quite small but ok for me travelling alone.

Nice stay with great breakfast
Reviewed By annaleenarStayed for one night with 3 kids just before New Years. We got two rooms (with double beds) that were connected so that was super smooth. Staff at reception was really welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was awesome. We arrived really late but got parking spot just outside the door.
