Shan State (Burmese: ရှမ်းပြည်နယ်, pronounced [ʃáɴ pjìnɛ̀]; Shan: မိူင်းတႆး [mə́ŋ.táj]) is a state of Myanmar. Shan State borders China to the north, Laos to the east, and Thailand to the south, and five administrative divisions of Burma in the west. Largest of the 14 administrative divisions by land area, Shan State covers 155,800 km², almost a quarter of the total area of Burma. The state gets its name from the Shan people, one of several ethnic groups that inhabit the area. Shan State is largely rural, with only three cities of significant size: Lashio, Kengtung, and the capital, Taunggyi. Taunggyi is 150.7 km north east of the nation's capital Naypyitaw.

Friendly service, amazing food and great location. I come here several times a week and it really is one of the best options in Taunggyi. Have ordered pretty much everything in their menu and liked every single one of them. The bibimbap (off the menu) is awesome. Highly recommended.

I had a good lunch with my local guide at this restaurant. Our meal included a big fried fish, pea-soup, tomato salad, chicken with potato curry & dessert. We were observing passing boats and other stilted structures near by. It was a nice relaxing atmosphere.Service was also very good

The restaurant has a great interior design and is placed right in front of a green sceneray of different plantations. Just drive into the main entrance of the Mount Inle Hotel and you will find the restaurand behind the reception.The food is delicious and they have a nice cocktail card for resonable prices!

It was delicious dinner there with my friends on August 12 evening after looking stunning sun set near Maing Thauk wooden bridge. Their cooking was great. Minced pork, mixed vegetable salad and peanut curry were delicious. At that time 5 travellers of French family members also enjoy their dinner. Foods and price were acceptable. But their cooking was took very long time and also even not too much customers there at that time. During our dinner time,there were too many big mosquitoes there. Restaurant provided mosquito repellent roll but their mosquitoes seem as repellent resistant. I would visit there again,but only for lunch because of giant mosquitoes.

We were craving some more western food and we decided to come here as the decor was simple but attractive! The menu offers a wide selection of food from Thai, Burmese and western. We ordered fish & chips and a yummy chicken Kiev! Or was delicious! The drinks were also yummy! I highly recommend this place specially if the next day you are off fir a trekk!

I ate here a couple of weeks back and really enjoyed the experience. They serve ice cold beers and delicious bbq meats and vegetables. Particularly recommend the chicken wings and pork ribs. I think reordered twice. Very reasonably priced too. Owner/ Manager speaks good English and is very friendly and helpful.

Hahaha. Donât get the pizza. Stick to the Thai or Myanmar cuisine. Had the clay pot with vermicelli (2000 Ks) and it was good. Others had the steamed fish in banana leaf (5000 Ks) which was tasty. Heard the grilled fish (45 min wait/ 10000 Ks) is one of their best dishes. Restaurant / bar served up cocktails, hard liquors and bottles of Myanmar beer (2500 Ks). Also fresh fruit juices (2500 Ks).

Our small group of 6 hit this restaurant around 6pm...before the crowds. Everything we ordered was outstanding...and if you can each order a separate dish and then share, it makes for a great and varied meal.We loved the masala curry salad, the Shan noodles -some of the best we had in all of Myanmar....

The Restaurant Owner Ma Zar, she used to work in Thailand for almost two decades and returned to Myanmar to open this small restaurant in Nyaung Shwe. With her 20 years of working experience and bubbly personality, she and her friendly young staffs never fail to give great service and food to their customers.
