We came across this lovely restaurant by mistake after finding ourselves in a pretty village, we decided to give it a try and we certainly weren't disappointed. The restaurant hasn't been open long but word of mouth must have spread because it was very popular. The staff were all lovely, very friendly and efficient, very good menu and the food was well presented and delicious! Very good portions at very reasonable prices. We enjoyed it so much that we visited a second time and were equally impressed.

The tall ceilings and wooden tables give Sal y Brasa a "rustic" feel! The waiter was very friendly and explained the specials of the day. As we had been before, we knew the portion sizes were large so we opted for a main course only with no starters. However we were given a starter of "Pimietos al Padron" on the house and they were lovely. I had the grilled sole and it was beautiful. It came served with rice and salad and there was enough to feed a small army. When we had finished the waiter kindly phoned a taxi to take us home. A fantastic experience and one to be repeated again soon

There were lots of local customers in the restaurant on the friday night, families and couples, which is always a good sign. The food we had was absolutely delicious. We shared zucchini carpaccio and some black pork dish. All the starters are at least for two persons to share. Lamb was really good, and so was the baccalao dish and fried cheese. Leave some room for a dessert, since they have a really nice variety there! The staff was very professional and attentive. Live music fridays (and saturdays, I quess). Three men singing and two of them played guitar, they really made our evening superb!

Stylish, neat and tidy decor. Excellent friendly staff, top notch food. I had a beautifully cooked fresh fish dish. As near to fine dining as I suspect you might get in Vecendario. All seats were taken on outside tables when we arrived around 7pm, sat inside, where two other tables already taken, in no time the restaurant filled up, so it is clear it is very popular with locals. Would visit again.

Vecindario is full of mediocre, big OK places to eat, A few are different. Humus disappointed in that we were hoping to find eastern Mediterrean fare, but the menu was Spanish and general international offerings. This is not to say that that was not good, but with name like Humus...other things, Lebanese, Syrian, Israeli food come to mind.So the place was clean, a bit more upscale and the food was a bit different from the usual Canarian small restaurants. Prices reflected the 'upscaleness'. 20,to 30% more fore eats than other nearby places. So it is 'a cut above' the nearby Vecindario venues.

Again staying overnight in Vecindario we entrusted ourselves to Iulian and his staff for sustinence and they came up trumps. My wife, not being hungry, had a starter of prawns and garlic. There was plenty and I sampled the dish which was perfect. I had the Dorado served with Veg as I generally eat fish in Spain and Iulian was lucky to get the bones back. topped off with a couple of beers and a bottle of water an enjoyable evening was had. Thank you Iulian and staff looking forward to returning soon.Hello dear customer! We are so pleased that you decided to take a moment from your time and sheared with the world and with us all so, your experience; thanks to people like you, our motivación grows every day!Your satisfaction it's our most important wish.Hope see you soon!Caindly :The Staff

Highly enjoyable meal. Ours was based on fish/seafood with excellent starters of shellfish soup and octopus with romesco sauce, preceded by wrinkly potatoes, on the house. Main courses were local fish ('wreck fish', according to Wikipedia) in seafood sauce and leek tart. The latter wasn't quite on the button being covered in an oversweet tomato-based sauce, a day both mains could have been hotter. Excellent puds of lemon tart and milk fritter plus on really good and on the house grapefruit aguadiente. Very good value at €35 per person. Note that this place is well off the usual tourist routes and you'll need competent Spanish. But well worth it.

We tried different dishes, such us different types of homemade croquettes and vegetable crispy tempura, and it wasn't oily, what was really surprising for us, we haven't tried any like that one. They also had a wide variety of music, such as Mark Knopfler !!The owners were very friendly and the man could speak a little bit of english :) I will definitely recommend it !!Thank you very much Gabriela for valorating our sishes and music. It´s a pleasure for us to know that you have enjoyed your stay with us!!

We visited Shorty’s after reading positive views on TA. As we are not experts when it comes to tapas we asked the waitress her advice on how much we needed to order for 2 persons which was fine. What we were a little disappointed with is we were not discouraged to order the aioli bread at €3.90 a pop even though most of the disses we had ordered came with bread included. I know it is only €3.90 but the bread was some slices of a cheap baton and a pot of aioli butter to spread on. Several of the dishes we had were simple and something that could be put together easily at home with little effort. Although most of what we ordered did taste fine they were all overpriced even by restaurant standards making a combination of dishes (Tapas) expensive, when ordering 7 for 2 persons to share as recommended by the waiting staff. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated and the staff friendly enough.Highlight...The orange potatoesLowlight....Gold plated bread and over inflated prices for simple dishesMany thanksShortys Team
