Went there about a week ago with two friends to try out this "highly recommended" place in Rio Linda; it was even farther "north" than I expected and certainly in a typical "Rio Linda" setting (= NOT upscale at all). Prices were fair for the quality and size of the servings, BUT I would NOT drive there again (from W. Sacramento) as it was "good," but not the absolutely "4 Star" rating the major paper assigned. YES, it is authentic, but I,personally, prefer the chile rellano in a number of other places. IMHO, Casa Ramos (various locations" is worth a 20 mile drive, but ....not this option.

I was dropping off my Dad in Sacramento after our Thanksgiving visit. We stopped at Sol Cubano for lunch and I was impressed. We split the sampler plate and a Cuban sandwich. Sampler had roast pork, two kinds of plantains, croquettes, salad, rice & beans, and papa rellena. Out of this world! And the Cuban sandwich was perfect. No imposters here. Now I can enjoy good Cuban food every time I take my Dad for a visit.

We've driven by the huge barrel-shaped barbecues spewing a delicious smoke plume several times. We finally stopped for lunch. We order the combination platters. The grilled chicken was delicious! They are very friendly & helpful. My only complaint is that the 1 rib included on the platter was not very meaty. Will definitely go back!

I had high hopes for this restaurant and was disappointed, the food was just ok. My tacos were a bit bland and the serving of beans on the side were canned navy beans dumped in a pot ( with that canned liquid they came in ) and heated up. No flavoring whatsoever. ( Really ? ) The "Mexican " rice was also cooked without any real flavor. The restaurant was clean and the service was excellent, they just need to put a little more effort into food prep. There are many other authentic Mexican restaurants in the area to choose from, smarten up guys.
