Trying out places downtown Columbia in the Vista. Appetizers was brought out promptly. Plates and presentation was okay, flavors were way off. Loaded mashed potatoes was soo heavy with pepper couldn’t eat it. Their tarter sauce was sweet/nasty.Derrick our waiter, epic fail. Seems like a nice guy. Not that busy but brought salads out with entree. Missing in action for anything but taking our order. Good luck on a refill. Had to hunt him down for our check. After waiting ten minutes never came by to collect our credit card to pay. We paid our bill at the bar. Derrick was busy standing around the kitchen entrance.

I always have been on Crab Leg Night which is a popular night! Still we got a seat quickly and were served promptly. Waitress kept our plates filled with legs and made sure we had cold beer. There were a few people not eating crab legs and all of the food looked good but I can't vouch for anything but the crab legs. It is a bit pricey - $35 but well worth a special dinner. This is not a fancy place, very down to earth but good food and service and incredible crab legs.

We had a party of ten hang out here before dinner reservations at another restaurant. Huge selection of unusual beers, alcoholic lemonade and girly beers. I ordered off the local first tier on the menu. Everyone's drink was unique and enjoyable. Service was attentive. Atmosphere comfortable. Would go back and try other local beers anyway! Got the bill and was pleasantly surprised that we got Happy Hour prices.

Visited on Wednesday afternoon. Possibly 2 other tables at the most. We ordered appetizer chips/blue cheese and meals. The server checked on us 4 times prior to the appetizers coming out to see if we needed anything??? Ah, yes! The appetizer! After the appetizer the server check on us 3 more times before the hamburger arrived. Very attentive, but a waste of time. The blue cheese chips were soggy and not crisp. Then the hamburger came-it had been compacted into a hard ball and flattened squished and dried out. It was not juicy or tasty, but a dry hard clump. Not 45 seconds after the server dropped off the food they came back to see how the food was and if we needed anything-we were still fixing and cutting to eat!!!!The trips to the table every 3-4 minutes was crazy. The food was not that great.Michele739,Thank you your review and letting us know about your recent experience. I haven't eaten t the Hunter-Gatherer in a long time. Friends of ours wanted to try it prior to going to the James Taylor concert. I read several reviews the day before and everything sounded good. We decided to order from the Chef's Special menu. I had lamb chops and my wife had the gnocchi special. Another of our party had the gnocchi and his wife got the Mac n' Cheese dish. She enjoyed her dish, my lamb chops were OK, but I wouldn't order them again. The two in our party that had the gnocchi were very disappointed. The both said, "No flavor with a burned after taste." They asked for vinegar which they applied liberally, to add some flavor to the dish. Unfortunately we were on a tight schedule due to the concert and didn't have time to send the dishes back.
