I went with the family to have lunch, the place has a good design and looks nice, however it took very long, maybe 45min to have the food ready. Besides the beer was not good the smell and taste was really bad, so we complain but the critics were not received in a good way.Resume:1. Looks nice2. Bad service3. Cumprimentos

Restaurante A Praceta

A Praceta is a lovely, traditionally Portuguese restaurant situated in the centre of Santiago do Cacem. My husband and I ate here on the first and last day of our holiday and we thoroughly enjoyed both our meals. In fact we don't normally make a habit of returning to a restaurant as there as so many places to try but we returned here! The menu is really varied and it was of the only places in the town, which served us a variety of vegetables other than potatoes. I ordered the chicken curry, which was delicious and my husband ordered the extremely tasty mackerel with beans and carrots. For dessert, we had such a good pudding that my husband ordered a second one! There is an extensive wine list too. The staff are warm, friendly and charming. Although they all speak excellent English, they encouraged us to try and speak a bit of our limited Portuguese and we had lots of laughs about this. I loved the tiling, ceramics and the attention to detail in the restaurant. It really added to the warm, cosy atmosphere. Hope we can go back there on another holiday!

A TERRA Santiago

More than a restaurant. À TERRA is a way of life. À TERRA is a restaurant based on homemade, delicious, healthy and rustic food. Based on the concept of sharing, it includes a continuous all-day service and uses many local ingredients

Being a solo traveler can be a gift and a curse. Sometimes you don’t get the attention you would expect and other times you get a pleasant surprise. This is exactly what happened at À TERRA. I was greeted by very friendly and profesional staff. Since I was the only solo guest having dinner, Cheffs Diego and João decided to set me up at the bar in front of them and take me on a culinary journey through southern Portugal. Watching them move around in the open kitchen, as they create fantastic dishes for their guests, was a real treat. There’s passion in what they do and that is reflected on their food. Flavors: Earthy, citrusy and robust. Presentation: exquisite. Ingredients: 6am daily fresh. Overall: beyond expectations. Located in Santiago Hotel, in a town that didn’t really catch my eye) À TERRA is a must. I highly recommend you to stop by and try their food. You will be happy you did. Dear Marcos, Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review about your experience with us. We are delighted to learn it was a truly memorable one and we hope to have the pleasure to welcome you back! Kind regards, Raphael WiedemannGeneral Manager

We visited this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. She said that a friend of hers said it was the best restaurant in Portugal. She is probably right. The food was delicious but best was the way that the waiter Jose guided us around the menu so we picked food we would not have done without his help. Wonderful.

Hearty meals at affordable prices. Don't expect to much from the service. They serve simple good food so if your looking for a posh plating and fine service try somewhere else. We had the grilled rabbit and it was really tasty. Portions are above average. The service was a tad slow but understandable as the place was packed. Lot of people around us order the seafood rice, the portions were humongous and they seemed to be enjoying it. The only advise I would give is that you keep an eye out for the place as it's not very visible from the road(it's right next to a gas station)
