We were across the street buying a new car. While waiting on some paperwork, we decided to grab some Mexican food. Salesman didn't exactly recommend Mazatlan, but said "you won't find any surprises". He was right. It was what we were looking for.....predictable, Americanized Mexican fare. For Tasted, and was presented almost exactly like most larger Mexican restaurants. Not the most flavorful, but certainly not discussing. The salsa was yummy, but the chips were weird......a little mealy. I had the carne Asada tacos. The were ok. I'm not sure why so many Mexican rest. drench their tortillas in sauce. Just makes a MESS! Service was a little slow, and there were "mechanical" issues in the bathroom, but if you are looking for predictable Americanized mex. food......this place won't surprise.
OK, I live in an area with a large Mexican population, and there are a lot of taquerias around. We (almost literally) stumbled on Taqueria La Rancherita while we were looking for a quick, light dinner near where we were staying. The menu looked interesting - they had a lot of the varieties (lengua, tripa, cabeza) that my favorite local has, as well as aguas frescas. The food wasn't bad, but it was on the bland side. There is a bar where you can add various salsas and pickled veggies, and that helped. For the price, it was good value (and definitely smelled better than the nearby KFC): if you're looking for just a light meal - one or two tacos - it's good value for the money. The horchata was good.

Reasonable prices, consistent food & friendly staff are what keep us coming back occasionally to La Fuente. They pour a good drink and have a broad selection of what we in US consider traditional Mexican. Including all the favorites. They younger crowd comes in for the taco Tuesday happy hour in bar. They have done a good job for us of accommodating larger parties of 15 to 20.

Not only is this place inexpensive (less than $2.00 per taco) it's our favorite spot for authentic Mexican food! This hidden little gem is always hoppin' - in fact, expect to wait for your food because it's usually pretty busy. I definitely recommend trying the horchata (rice drink) while you wait. So yummy!!

Great food, really top of the lineExcellent service, truly remarkable, consistently.Since they opened the service and food have been exceptional.Their cocktail menu is top tier for a Mexican restaurant, offering a vast array of craft scratch cocktails that are creative and flavorful and worthy of an excellent rating, providing perfect accompaniments to the meal.We have found them detail oriented and careful when it comes to to-go orders as well.I appreciate all this establishment has brought to this city!

My husband and I have driven by this place for years. We have been in search of a standout Mexican restaurant. In the last couple of years we have noticed the quality and freshness has gone downhill. NOT HERE! Sat outside in a small patio that was really pleasant. We started wth an appetizer of Camarones al Mojo de Ajo. The prawns were cooked to perfection. So many times these are easy to overlook. I had the Enchilada A La Crema. The chicken was moist and seasoned well, nice portion with a cream sauce and cheese on top. The rice and beans were excellent. My husband had a vegetarian burrito. The thing was HUGE! Filled with carrots, zucchini, onions, beans, rice, guacamole and broccoli, etc. it was 5" across, 2" deep and 10"long. Covered with a very nice sauce and cheese. We have been to many places that have a vegetarian burrito and it has only rice and refried beans. This was awesome. Veggies were not mushy, but cooked to keep it very fresh.i took pictures, but even better up close! This will be our new favorite Mexican restaurant. Staff very nice, food came quickly and was hot. Inside restaurant wasn't that great, but clean and so was the ladies room.

Very economical, reliably good and authentic Mexican fare. Tiny, but has outdoor eating area, and you order at the counter. It's not the ambiance, it's the food and price for us.

I went with a group of ten. The service was excellent. We requested bean dip with our tortilla chips and they brought us dishes of beans, salsa and a mixture of tomatoes with onions. They managed to keep all of our orders straight. I enjoyed my plate of one chalupa-- delicious and generous portion. (Like a giant taco with sour cream and guacamole). We'll be back.
