Cerro Grande

We arrived at 5pm, our food finally arrived at 5:30, very few others there. My shrimp chimichangas arrived stone cold, I’m not kidding, my hubbys burritos supreme was also cold and he never complains. Our waitress was surly and not friendly at all. When I asked for the sides to be on the side and not on the same plate she was not happy. Sent it back and it was still cold, arrived again and was still cold. The microwaved items were then watery and the fried crust soggy. I got no sides and had to wait for that, was it a language problem? Usually the food is hot and they deliver it with pot holders. Not now, worst time and service we have ever had here and we have been regular customers for many years. I hope this is not what is happening all the time. No apology, no nothing! Very disappointed.

Quick easy dinner out. Cheap and yummy chimichanga chicken fried was very tasty. Ordered the cheese dip to go with the chips and it had a nice flavor. Waiter was attentive and kept our waters full. Nice local Mexican restaurant for when that’s what you’re in the mood for.

Husband and I were craving mexican for dinner so thought we'd try a place on our end of town. We were greeted upon entering. The menu is on a rotating TV screen with pictures of food and they also have menus printed at the cash register for you to look at. It seemed like a limited menu selection to me. You can order take out or eat in. We chose to dine there as it wasn't busy. Small dining area but the wall of mirrors makes it look larger. Choose your table carefully, it took us three tries before finding one that wasn't dirty. No alcohol, only soda in bottles and it wasn't the coldest. Hubs had a burrito that was huge and he couldn't finish it but he said there was a lot of rice filling it up, not meat. I don't remember what I had but there were four of them deep fat fried and filled with bland shredded chicken. This was covered in lettuce and drizzled in sour cream with a few tomatoes. It tasted light and fresh, not greasy, but it was bland. I think of Mexican food as having flavor or a kick to it. I ordered a side of rice also which was bland. TV in corner of room was playing what looked like a Mexican soap opera with subtitles. With all the Mexican restaurants in the area I think we'll keep searching for one.
