I always love going to "authentic" Japanese restaurants and finding that the entire staff comes from some other Asian culture. Often of course, Chinese are very prevalent, but also Filipino, Vietnamese and Thai. But this time, in conversation, I noted many Burmese as waitstaff and "cooks." Which is fine by me as long as the food is good. And at Musashi, you will get very good "Benihana-like" meals. Thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment and interaction with the crew. Very polite and attentive. Very clean and nicely appointed. Best in town.

We stopped here to celebrate my mom's birthday. I ordered the fried flounder, shrimp, and scallops. My daughter had the 6 oz ribeye while mom ordered the fried fish, shrimp, and oysters. Our sides were loaded baked potato, brocolli, and green beans. Although the vegetables weren't seasoned to a good southern taste, the loaded baked potato was good. The seafood was delicious!! I was soo full after eating half of my plate. They give you a hefty portion for their prices. Everyone enjoyed their meals. They offer daily specials, but we decided to go with regular combination plates from the menu. Drinks are sold separately, but you get free refills. We'll definitely be back!!

This is an awesome place with a seafood market next door. So you can eat a great meal, and then take some fresh seafood home for another day. Their clam chowder is a must have. Funky decor, and right across from The History Center at Tryon Palace. Wonderful service too!

We enjoyed dining here overlooking the river. The service was very good. The menu is limited with not a large selection. My husband enjoyed his fried green tomato /pimiento cheese sandwich and I had a brisket sandwich. Both were good. The house chips/sauce were just okay. Later on we went back to have a cocktail on the patio which was nice. Bartender did a good job with drinks as they weren't on the menu.

Had dinner with friends. Three orders of the catfish and chips. Really good with the Jamaican kick to the tarter sauce which worked really well. One flounder and chips which was tasty. The fries (chips) were hand cut. Thinner and dusted with tasty spices. The final order was the Crabby Patty (melt). Tasty warm and filling. Located on the Main Street in New Bern. Lots of other restaurants in a several block radius. (Just down the block- drugstore where Pepsi-cola was âinvented â)

At Morgan's, our philosophy is simple â Provide great service in a casual and comfortable atmosphere with quality ingredients.
Going into this restaurant was a pleasant supply. The outside is deceiving. It is much larger than appears. The ambience is great. Service was good except when time to pay, they forgot us! Luckily we were in no hurry. Though I had to watch what I was eating, the menu was diverse enough to find something mild. Had the fish taco and it was excellent. Would love to return and try some of the other menu items. Their Carmel sauce for the sweet potato fries is outstanding though a little sweet for me. Table mates really enjoyed it. Sandwiches are huge and can be shared. Would definitely return.

Needed a quick light lunch during our day trip to New Bern. Docents at the Firemanâs Museum sent us down the block to Chelsea for their Shrimp & Grits. Bit heavier than we needed so tried the soup and salad. Crab soup was to die for. Apollonian salad was perfect and the crock of French Onion soup was more than delicious. Also tried the Chicken Salad platter. Just what we were looking for.Right after we placed the order, the lights went out. Krissyti never missed a beat and assured us the soups were already heated! The light open feel of the bistro was no problem with seeing and we never noticed when the lights came back on just in time to run our credit card. Need to come back and try those Shrimp & Grits!Jeanne & Gil & MarilynnThe Grey Gourmets
