The main focus at Gaucho is to better serve our patrons with great service, tasting food and well balanced nutritional choices, always looking for fresh, safe and quality food from local goods and sustainable food suppliers as our first choice.
Unlike other all you can eat Brazilian restaurants, Gauchos has individual dishes that can be purchased both as combos and al la carte. Our family loved each and every dish we had. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The chicken was moist and tender. The sauces were good enough to want to eat them in their own. I especially loved the cauliflower cheese sauce. We finished off with birthday flan which was a perfect sweet finish

Upon sitting down, I ordered a sangria....presentation was completely lacking! Poured from a larger bottle with no ice nor fruit slice....nothing! When I lifted the glass, I could see it was dirty! Really, really dirty....not just dishwasher stains.....pretty gross. Had a small burrito and quesadilla and both were not even lukewarm. Iâm sure the dirty sine glass had my guard up but it was just not a good night! I did have a Coors Light that was good & cold & I didnât have to worry about a glass! While this is NOT the restaurantâs fault, I had the most obnoxious Virginia Tech students beside me and they thought it was cute to constantly try to âout-burpâ their friends....a couple of them probably brought up chunks! Disgusting!

We stopped in to El Rodeo during a visit with our son at VT, and frankly, were not impressed. The food was mediocre, the ambiance was rather basic, and annoyingly, the waiter "auctioned off" the dinners when we brought them to the table, loudly announcing each entree and waiting for someone to claim them. The grilled chicken was dry and tough, and the fajitas were way overcooked. Is there a better choice for good Mexican food in Blacksburg? I hope so!
