If you happen to be in Montelimar on your way South (good place to make a stop-over on the long haul Paris-Nice), stroll around town and try to end up at Claire's restaurant Au Bonheur du jour. It's on a small square (a bit hidden) near the art-cinema (pretty good programming and English movies in English!) and a small theatre (L'auditorium). she serves some amazing dishes, normally just from what she found on the market that day. A little terrace in front. Can't be better.

We seem to have been extremely fortunate in our travels this time as we have stumbled across some really excellent places quite by good fortune. Wandering around Montelimar we thought that this looked interesting and then read your previous reviews. All we managed to get through seem to concur with our own thoughts.Excellent cooking, good ingredients, beautiful presentation and good value for money. Did I mention the excellent service. The fact that it was busy on a very quiet Monday in town says it all. Not a pudding person but the chocolate gateau with cherries was divine and beautifully runny. The house rose was one of the best cuvees I have had with a house menu. Well recommended on all fronts.

This is a showroom/shop with connecting industrial size kitchen that produces local products. They service lunch meals inside the showroom/shop with open kitchen. The staff is friendly but they don't speak English very well so take your time to discuss what you like to buy to take home or what you lik them to prepare for lunch. The day menu is â¬15,-. The products they produce and that they offer for sale are not cheap but of a great quality. It's located just off the N7 motorway and there is a petrol station just in the front that offer low fuel prices.Dear Sir,We would like to thank you for your stay in our "Table-Epicerie" aix & terra and are happy you appreciated the different meals served by our staff. We promise to improve step by step the English speaking approach of our staff and would like also to inform you as you may be living in Singapore that we will open soon a " Table-Epicerie" aix & terra in Chinatown district from Singapore, on Gemmill Lane 10, as from next august. On the road from Toulouse to Méribel, we found this spot by getting off the motorway and trying our luck. We timed things just right, as we squeaked into this popular little restaurant during lunch and wanted to enjoy their set menu--except they were already out of the main that my boyfriend wanted. And the tiramisu pistache that I'd eyed for dessert. So I put together two entrées from the regular menu and found both savoury and fresh. A good find, and worth seeking out for a bit of "le vrai Rhône."

A défaut d'un restaurant étoilé, les spécialités culinaires respectent lâart du « bien manger » et du « bien boire ». les saveurs et l'odeur des plats permettent de stimuler nos papilles gustatives.Merci à Nathalie au fourneau et à Fabienne au service pour un accueil chaleureux.

I visited this restaurant with a work colleague whilst on a contract locally.Montelimar seems to have more restaurants than people and although I only stayed a week I could have eaten in a different one ever night for a year.So a wonderful place to stay for food lovers.We usually had an evening drink in a nearby bar and on our last night in Montelimar thought we would try the Le Moderne which was a couple of doors along.The restaurant was very small and busy even in early evening.We hadn't booked but the waiter was very helpful and found us a table straight away.From then on nothing was too much trouble.My work colleague was quite discerning on her wine and questioned the waiter extensively because she was drinking red and I white we didn't want to buy bottles.After letting her sample a few she arrived at one she liked.Then the problems started because the menu was in French which neither of us spoke.Again the waiter who by now we had found out to be the owner was equally as helpful as previously explaining the menu with a great deal of patience although the restaurant was so busy.We decided on our meals with the help of the owner and when they came, were superb.I asked if I could have a tiramisu as a desert, he apologised and said they didn't do it, but wait, he would ask the chef who we found out was his wife what she could do.She produced the best tiramisu I have ever tasted.When we were leaving the owner introduced us to his wife who was equally as friendly as him.This was the best dining experience both in food and service I have ever experienced in many, many years.Le Moderne was quite expensive but I would highly recommend it for a place to take that someone special for a lovely romantic evening.

We had an overnight stop in Montélimar en route to the south coast and came across this delightful restaurant by chance. The evening set menu was delicious. All courses excellently cooked and beautifully presented. A good selection of wines by the glass and carafe for those not wanting to quaff a whole bottle. I donât think youâll be disappointed if you come here for an evening meal. We stayed near Montelimar at the end of June/beginning of July. We looked on Trip Advisor for the best restaurants and saw that La Petite France was rated best. We visited and had an excellent set-meal. The quality and presentation of the food was first class. We enjoyed it that much we returned in the second week of our holiday. This time having two courses from the A La Carte menu. Again, it was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

I had dinner here a few weeks ago while on a business trip in Montelimar. We had a very nice meal the first evening so we went back a second time. Both evenings were very good and the local wine they recommended was excellent. They have mostly grilled meat and fish and you can see the food cooking on a closed circuit TV screen in the dining room.
