It was pure chance that we arrived at Comme une Abeille. Dedicated staff and very, very friendly. Food is prepared with fresh ingredients.Hamburger with a delicious taste and homemade french fries. Seafood and meat. Deserts and good coffee. Definitely very recommended. There is also the possibility to taste your wine before ordering. Buy a bottle or more to take with you.

The management of La Papillote is smart enough to put up Sandwich boards as road signs--we would not have found it otherwise. And what a trouvaille it was! La place du temple is a lovely location right in the heart of the old town and quiet enough not to interfere with your meal. The restaurant appears to be an honest family business, and their--regionally inspired--dishes (cooked in in paper 'envelopes') are very tasty. Selection is not too large, but precisely because of that credible. Value for money is something else to commend it.

Good value & generous servings of mildly spicy food. We chose from the Aladdin set menu, which included soup & salad to start and couscous with chicken as a main course. The dessert was deliciously creamy & flavoured with orange & cinnamon.
Restaurant was busy with couples, groups and families with children - a popular place.

We seem to have been extremely fortunate in our travels this time as we have stumbled across some really excellent places quite by good fortune. Wandering around Montelimar we thought that this looked interesting and then read your previous reviews. All we managed to get through seem to concur with our own thoughts.
Excellent cooking, good ingredients, beautiful presentation and good value for money. Did I mention the excellent service. The fact that it was busy on a very quiet Monday in town says it all. Not a pudding person but the chocolate gateau with cherries was divine and beautifully runny. The house rose was one of the best cuvees I have had with a house menu.
Well recommended on all fronts.

Located on "les Allees provencales", french traditional cuisine, season and fresh quality food, good selection of wines and champagnes in original decoration, nice Terrace, parking right in front, and friendly hospitality!

Passing through Montelimar we asked at a wine shop (the excellent Saveurs Et Millesimes) for a lunch recommendation, and were directed to Le Moderne.
How lucky we were.
Quality throughout - the service, the produce, the menu choice, the cooking.
What we had thought would be a quick stop for a quick bite became a truly memorable meal.
We started with a carpaccio of daurade, and a small salade moderne (prawns, scallops, salmon with parmesan shavings) then continued with one wonderful ravioli with goat's cheese, jambon and black olives, and one wonderful tuna, followed by a shared tarte tatin of apricots......all washed down with a quality rose - and as we hadn't finished the bottle we were given it to take away, in a bag with a special secure stopper.
We sat out on the pavement, and as the sun changed direction they moved the table in relation to the parasol to keep us in the shade.
What food, what service.

If you happen to be in Montelimar on your way South (good place to make a stop-over on the long haul Paris-Nice), stroll around town and try to end up at Claire's restaurant Au Bonheur du jour. It's on a small square (a bit hidden) near the art-cinema (pretty good programming and English movies in English!) and a small theatre (L'auditorium). she serves some amazing dishes, normally just from what she found on the market that day. A little Terrace in front. Can't be better.

After a long drive up from The Luberon we met our friends in Montelimar for lunch. This restaurant was recommended to us by another local establishment which couldn't accommodate the 5 of us & what a recommendation! The delightful waitress could not have been more helpful, accommodating, patient and smiling. The formule for €13 was excellent and we spent 3 very happy hours catching up with old friends.
Will definitely return if we're in Montelimar again.

Recommended by Hotel Médiéval Rochemaure, this is a hideaway place down a blind alley. They seem constantly fully booked as we overheard waitress-cum-mentor cum manageress turning down couple after couple. We got the last free table ... and what a delightful evening - cannot recall all the fabulous, surprising blends of sauces on superby fresh food. Eevn the monthg's selcted wine Peyre Haut rosé wa out of this world and all at a reasonable. So, go find teh place and enjoy as much as we did. Book first.

Par contre pas mal d’attente mais ça vaut le coup
