The best quick stop over hotel in Le Mans
Reviewed By StPeeWe used this hotel as a stop over travelling north to south in France and it was perfect. We’ve tried several in and around Le Mans and this is the best. Brilliant location just 5mins from m’way, in the centre of a pretty little village. Lots of parking, nice boulangerie next door. Lovely, friendly and very helpful receptionist. Super clean spacious rooms, very clean bedding, decent bed, nice big fluffy towels. Plenty of options for places to eat in walking distance and just a few mins drive away. It’s a no-frills, super convenient, excellent value for money one night stop over. We paid £34 for a room for family of 4, amazing.

Reviewed By Durham-TravellerConvenient stop-over on way to Costa del Sol from UK (thru Tunnel). Basic but adequate breakfast. Main tram stops were just outside Hotel (great for anyone staying longer). Good Bistro Restaurant within 100 mtrs. Friendly staff. Secure underground parking. Good double glazing - could not hear trams.

The facilities are 10/10, à hot tub spa outside, sauna and hamman, the decor is very tastefully done, contemporary with a dash of nostalgia and 24h du Mans. The very friendly host served us with an amazing evening meal ( 4 course ) and wonderful breakfast. Recommended 100% thank you

Born during the nineteenth century, the “Demeure de Laclais” is Located in the heart of the Plantagenet old city (also called Vieux Mans), 50 meters from the roman and gothic St-Julien cathedral (VIth to XIVth century). A car park provides easy parking for your car. To the west, the rooms and the garden offer a panoramic view over the whole city of Le Mans at the top of the old Roman ramparts (IIIrd century). Besides the guest rooms, the “Demeure de Laclais” offers a breakfast room, a bar-reception and a flowered terraced garden for your comfort during your stay. The whole house presents calm and comfort within a contemporary and classical environnement taking advantage of authentic and natural materials. The sweet colors make the peacefulness of the place. Our wish is to fully satisfy our guests.

Reviewed By Wander45083908468Very well situated hotel - we had a family room for 4 and it was superb! Very comfortable beds and the decor in our room was beautifully traditional. Our host was wonderful and navigated our lack of French brilliantly. Really enjoyed breakfast and the lovely selection of jams. Would hesitate to recommend - we will be back.

We have stayed all over the world in 5/6* hotels to boutique hotels/B&B's etc. And NEVER have we stayed anywhere as 'cool' as this & so well presented ... An absolute must .. The decor is absolutely top notch, the owner takes you down in a lift to the basement to the most amazing underground vaulted swimming pool, electronic covers, dim lights, seats.... Wow what I would give to live in a house like this,... Even the table football is amazing :)

Les Chambres d’Hôtes du Doyenné sont idéalement situées, au cœur de la Cité Plantagenêt du Mans, au calme dans une grande maison construite au début du XIXème siècle, rénovée récemment en respectant son identité, elles sont calmes et confortables dans environnement privilégié. C’est le quartier préféré des voyageurs visitant Le Mans !
Beautiful atmosphere - but plenty of room for improvement esp. hygiene
Reviewed By ladida2This B&B is situated in the heart of the old town of Le Mans, directly next to the Cathedral. This is a great advantage as one can discover the city on foot. The beds are very comfortable. Unfortunately, there is a big need of improvement. - The rooms (ours and that of my parents) were not clean - hair and dust underneath beds and furniture, dusty bedside-tables, a very used shower head, a dirty drawer underneath the sink. - Before booking, make sure you ask for pictures of the rooms! We got the 2 rooms in the attic, which, offer a great view on the square. But tall people have a problem moving in these rooms (my husband is 1,92 m) and one of the showers is installed under a slanting roof. 3 staircases lead to the attic which is divided in 2 small rooms. - On the day of departure, we had to leave the keys on a small table near the main door, as there was no one in sight. It would have been nice to know that there was someone around in any case of emergency - One last point: the lady of the house was very nice, but it would be a great asset if she could communicate in English.

It was indeed magical - the architecture, the gardens, the terrace, the beautiful dining room and lovely breakfast all contributed to a very memorable stay. The room appointments were superb down to the smallest details and had fantastic views of the gardens from the bedroom and bathroom. Very gracious hosts. I could go on. Do not hesitate to go!

Basic but very good value
Reviewed By Brigitte HNot a friendly welcome, almost too much trouble to book me in and no eye contact but it is does what it says on the tin, cheap, clean and fine for an overnight- you would not come here for a holiday! Small cabin like rooms with plastic all in one shower, loo and basin with choice of twin or double beds, fresh linen and adequate pillows and towels. Rooms have small tv, desk, chair, wardrobe - ample parking and it is pet friendly. Excellent Portuguese restaurant 2 minutes walk away and a McDonalds within sight. Very good value, I opted out of breakfast.

Décorum un rien japonisant, vaste espace et salle de bains impeccable. Une pièce supplémentaire en ajout facultatif (2 lits). Une mini-réserve pour le petit-déjeuner, un peu chiche.
