Enjoyed the rural atmosphere that this hotel generates. Large eating areas - indoors, covered verandah and extensive outdoor grassed section with children's playground that caters for families with young children.Food options are quite extensive with a variety of choices over and above the "usual" pub menu.This is not an expensive place to eat - with food, beer and wine at reasonable prices.Five mains, beer and a bottle of wine came to $130.Service by the young staff was very good - polite and attentive.

We eat here about once a week as our takeaway -go-to in Scone. Food is nicely flavoured but if you want it spicy you have to ask for extra spice. Food is fresh and tasty. Check the specials board because they sometimes have some nice prawn dish variations. The massaman curry, green curry and the mixed entree are consistent good options. The pad thai is okay. The satay is tasty. The people are very friendly. They always have the specials board out for $10 at lunch though I've only had dinner. You can sit outside at the wooden pub tables or go in to the Thai themed restaurant. They can seat larger parties. The actual pub itself is cosy and the people are lovely.

Nanny, mum, dad and the 2 year old had breakfast here. The food was plentiful, fresh and delicious and well priced. The breakfast salad was fabulous. Putting up a menu board and having menus placed at the front entry would be handy. Service was friendly and helpful. We'll be back.

Good : very helpful staff with check in and very apologetic about the restaurant and bar being closed for renovation. We were offered a free continental breakfast each morning as an apology. Rooms were in good condition and comfortable. We were recommended several restaurant and dining options nearby.Bad : the bed was very hard and sleep was restless, shower was very small and the hot water took a while to come through.Would I stay here again? Yes I would, after the restaurant and bar are reopened as I would like to know how they are.

Scone Bowlo is great for meetings, events and playing bowls! Locals are always friendly and helpful with bowling equipment and service at the bar is Swift and pleasant. The Chinese food is okay and good value. The function room is always private and useful for any event such as trivia or after work drinks.

This is a nice pub, and typically a local friendly place. Other than the charm of the place and the friendly staff it just has nice beers to drink. Set in a gorgeous heritage building, Asser House has much more going for it on the outside than it does on the inside. The staff member, whose name I donât know, but you can recognise if you see someone sour, dour and lacking an iota of politeness required to work in the hospitality industry, was rude and unhelpful. There was no please or thank you, even after sheâd been thanked, just a blank look as if she had never heard the words before. There was no warning that the order would be so late, in spite of there being so few customers but many cockroaches. The food was good, the service less so. I have messaged isabellag to discuss this feedback with no response. We have cameras which capture sound and there is no truth to this review, rather it seems a personal issue with a staff member. The writer has no other reviews and we can only suggest this was done deliberately to try to hurt a staff member. We have a pest control plan and keep our cafe very clean, there are no cockroaches as the writer suggests. Please do not let this review taint your view of our lovely cafe. Unfortunately it hurts my cafe, not the staff member.

We stayed a night in Scone for a kids soccerGame and wandered into the local pub.It was packed, no tables and we had no reservation. Georgia took us under her wing, sorted 12 of us out with tables and chairs, opened up a till for us to order dinner and checked in on us throughout the night. Amazing service, friendly pub, good food and really appreciated the customer service, thanks guys.

My husband and I and I dropped into the Crowded House Cafe while passing through Scone.The cafe has a lovely atmosphere and is very well patronised by locals and tourists alike.They advertised a breakfast and lunch special and have lots of great, fresh looking sweet treats. These include some great looking gluten free options.The coffee was brilliant and the scones were hot and served with a generous amount of ham and cream.

Itâs not often that I write reviews whilst still in the restaurant. The exception is this one due to the quality of food and service. I just want to get it all down now. I am that pain in the butt customer today who is being a picky/fussy eater. I am on a pre surgery diet and extremely limited in what I can have. The kitchen have been wonderfully accommodating- very generous of them. All the meals had were well prepared, plated and delicious. The staff are friendly and professional. This is how great dining is done! A definite must if visiting Scone.Hope your surgery goes well and you can return on an unrestricted diet and enjoy the full menu soon.
