We were unlucky with our neighbours, and service was non existent

Reviewed By VS298

I wanted to like these rooms, they are spacious enough and have potential. Something has obviously happened since the glowing reviews of last year...maybe this property has changed hands? There was no-one on site to welcome us and it was extremely tedious getting access, trying to follow instructions from a long email only sent earlier that day. What happens if your phone isn't working, we wondered. We were shown to the building across the road, only to be repeatedly told to read the message. After getting through several locked doors there was no welcoming port, no breakfast offered. All facilities were closed down. To add insult to injury the walls are paper thin and we had very loud-voiced neighbours who had friends over for the evening. We were pretty glad to get away from this place...such a shame, as I'm sure it was a lot better that it is now...this distant landlord business seems to be becoming the norm, sadly.

Best location in town

Our only disappointment was having to leave early due Covid shutdown. Friendly & engaging staff. Clean and well presented apartments with all the expected amenities (kettle, fridge, coffee & tea making). Early involuntary departure handled without fuss, and looking forward to re-visiting post-curfew.

Selected and featured on Getaway, Echuca Gardens is an outstanding combination of self contained accommodation located in Echuca on the Murray River. Each are surrounded by magnificent private water gardens and historic murals painted by the resident host. The property is centrally located, at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac adjoining 600ha of state forest, the Murray River, historic port and town centre are all within walking distance. Note - the wagons measure 2.5 x 8.5 meters and all units are located in a back garden with parking out front.

Bit of a letdown

Reviewed By Blueberry711

This is not a bad place to stay however we probably would have been able to get more comfortable accommodation elsewhere. We arrived in the evening and was greeted quite nicely by the gentleman who then showed us our cabin we stayed in the gypsy cabin. It was quite unique and small however we did expect that. The furnishings such as curtains bedspreads etc weren’t up to par and were quite old and dusty. The kitchen had everything you would need but again outdated and old. Other than a microwave there is no ability to cook in the kitchen. The dining table takes up a bit of room however the couch to sit on to use the dining table is not sufficient for anyone with a big butt! In my opinion they should get rid of the dining table and build in couch and replace those with a normal couch and sidetable potentially. The bedspread had an iron burn on it which is easily replaced even from Kmart is less than $50! It did look presentable however the bed was rather hard and the pillows were very old and used. Again these things can be replaced quite cheaply but it looks as though they haven’t bothered much with decor at the property. The bathroom is sufficient and had a toilet a sink and a small shower. The gardens were not up kept unfortunately which let the place down because the photos show beautiful gardens. The area where the cabins are is quite pretty and lit by fairy lights. All of the grass is fake however but it still looks nice. The gardens were a disappointment, the most important thing about staying anywhere for any reason is the sleeping arrangements and unfortunately the bed in the cabin did not succeed in comfort in anyway. It is only a double bed so we were quite cramped and being tall it was hard to get comfortable even on a hard bed With over used pillows! A bit of a disappointment unfortunately if we were going for a couples retreat we wouldn’t come here again. However it is suitable for an overnight stay if you want basic accommodation.

A good old fashioned server door for room service breakfast! Thoroughly happy with our stay, especially such a reasonable price

Good size...

Reviewed By SharonW2503

Stayed for one night recently. The room was a really good size and clean. The wifi was hopeless, really not much point having it. Small bathroom with a good shower. There were ceiling lights by the door and in the middle, and a lamp on a low table between beds. This meant the light was not good enough to read in bed. We had a queen bed and a single. The queen was very soft and the single perfect, made my husband swap at 3am so I could get some sleep. None of these issues life threatening. This motel is on the left on the highway, coming into Echuca, so not near the touristy part of town. Not an issue for us.

Beautiful old, rustic Hotel with a lot of character. Attended for dinner, huge Menu and if your a Parma fan, they boast that they have 100 different varieties. We chose the Beef and Guinness Pie with mash and veges and the Slow roasted lamb shoulder with mash and veges and both were absolutely sensational, I would go so far as to say possibly the best slow roasted lamb shoulder I've had. Good sized meals and reasonably priced.

Very spacious room

Reviewed By Loki_crazycat

My sister and I stayed for a night. We found the room to be incredibly spacious. Yes, it's old and dated, but it's clean and comfortable. We were informed prior to arrival that it was a budget motel and that river water was used with tank water for drinking. We were told again upon check-in, and told also about the jug of drinking water ready for us in the fridge. We were very pleased with the location, out the back near the pool and the Murray. We didn't use the pool in the end as a cool breeze came in and cooled us and the room very quickly. Walked by the river, watched jetskis and kids on inflatables towed behind powerboats. Very quiet at night and comfortable beds; we both slept well. Only downer was that my sister showered, knowing it was river water, but she didn't feel clean. Oh, well.
