A great stay. Owner had aircon on for our arrival. Reclining two seater lounge with swivel tv was a nice touch. Very clean and tidy. Comfortable bed. Parking a little tight. Good location. Quiet considering it’s on a main road. A nice little bistro next door.

A real gem

We really loved staying at Pacific Sun for a couple of nights whilst we did the Lady Musgrave Experience. The vibe is gorgeous…..quaint 1960s style beach motel lovingly refreshed for all of today’s expectations leaving you feeling relaxed and special, a true unique getaway. We can’t wait to return. Owner Andrea is refreshingly friendly and welcoming (feels like she truly loves her motel and living here - relaxed yet professional). On a practical note, the rooms are very clean, decor gorgeous, good aircon, big TV, new curtains that block out, and a neat kitchen with full fridge and necessary amenities. Close to all cafes and restaurants and the beach front, we enjoyed the Thai across the road and Kaseys for dinner both great.

Both Chefs have left and new cost cutting introduced by new owner.

Reviewed By Lynne S

Over the past 5 yrs it has been great, but not now!! I paid $30 for inferior quality and sized meals. I was not aware that both chefs had left recently. I was not aware that the quality and size of the meals had taken a huge nose dive. I was not aware either that the attitude had changed towards patrons. I have always highly recommended the Gin Gin Hotel as the place to go for a good meal, but I will never again. I took a girlfriend who was visiting there for lunch on Saturday. I ordered the Pepper Calamari, chips and salad for $15 and Jen ordered the Rump Steak Sandwich for $15. When I was handed my meal, the first thing I said in front of the manager was "Have you down sized the meals?". I was thinking "It just does not look right??."To which I was told that both Chefs had left and they had new ones. Jens Rump Steak Sandwich FOR $15!! was a Thin Bit of Steak that did not stretch the whole distance of the thick bread, accompanied by the same mixed salad I had on my plate. On my plate there was about 6 bits of flat white stuff that looked like Tripe, a small hand full of chips and the same size of mixed salad. I was appalled by the look of it and the price I had paid!! I took a couple of bites of the so called Calamari and there was no taste and the texture was like if it was reconstituted. Like it was a cheap processed version of Calamari. I took it back and told them that I was not happy with it. The girl took it from me- ask what else I wanted and I said "Just a plate of chips will do." I latter complained and explained to the Manager and the Bar Manager that I had just paid $15 for a meal that I was not happy with and "That it actually cost me $15 for a plate of chips." The manager said that they had changed the quality of food since the chefs had left. I got no sorry, offer of a refund or refund of the difference. I will never go back and will never recommend this place to any of my future guests. Go to the Highway Hotel instead and hopefully they are as good as they use to be!!

ANOTHER DUMP MOTEL

Reviewed By Saskiagrav

Night 2 in Bundaberg , checked out of the Riviera Motel , Dump number one , hoping to find something a bit better for night 2 , $99 , it said on the board on the footpath . But I was charged $129 . I realised later, is this guy joking ? That is surely unlawful , must check with consumer affairs. All the rooms looked equal ??? Just another dump Motel that needs bulldozing or turning into a backpackers. Noisy fridge , had to turn it off , noisy air con . So many notices on the wall under the tv it looked like a supermarket notice board , zero style going on here. Repeat on the back of the door. Another ugly bathroom in need of a total refurb. Not happy about the rip off , was he waiting for me to say ‘hey I want the advertised price on the street ‘? SNEAKY , will I return ? , NEVER . Not to be recommended.
