Western Norway, Norway Food Guide: 9 International food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Alesund

April 28, 2020 Marlin Saiz

Reviews on International food in Alesund, Western Norway, Norway. Perched at the top of Norway’s Western Fjord country, picture-perfect Alesund is spread over several islands stretching into the Atlantic, with the spectacular Sunnmøre Mountains as a backdrop. If its natural beauty doesn’t grab you, its architecture surely will: After an early 20th-century fire destroyed much of the town, Alesund was rebuilt in absolute Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) glory. Learn the history at Aalesunds Museum, or visit one of the world’s largest aquariums, the Atlanterhavsparken.

The best thing to say is it´s quite cheap. But dont go there for the food. As the other reviews say it´s still tasteless food. We tried salmon and the Norwegian speciality "potetball". You get better food in many other restaurants in Ålesund, although the quality of the food in this type of restaurants in Ålesund is not high. And they also managed to forget my wife´s order.

Molja Restaurant

Molja is the charming restaurant at Scandic alesund, and has a great view of the harbour. The restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner, and serves everything from coffee and light snacks to a full à la carte courses.

We were staying at the Scandic Alesund and had not visited o=Molja until our very last night when it was raining and we were tired. We elected to go downstairs for dinner. The atmosphere was comfortable, te view was great right next to the window overlooking the harbor and the staff was polite and attentive even with two large groups to attend to. The food was also good. Caesar salads much larger than expected for a starter, but good. Burger and fries were aso good. My husband had the lamb shank and it looked beautiful. I would definitely recommend stopping in

This is a special place in a special house. Not very fancy but even more charming. If you're lucky the "Serveringsteateret" serves you the food in a very untraditional way - you migth get offended (but in a funny way). This restaurant will never get a Michelin star - but it might offer you an experience out of the ordinary. Often offers concerts during the weekends. Groups might book the "Serveringsteater".

The Service and the waitress was very friendly and serviceminded. The food was excellent, but portions are small, especially I found the dessert tiny.Dear TM2205,Thank you very much for writing this review. Were were happy to see that you enjoyed the food and the service. Our food concept is based on eating several courses. Four and five courses and even seven courses are offered. For this reason portions are kept relatively small, but also priced accordingly. We hope to see you back soon!Yours sincerely,Sven Erik MoeGeneral Manager

Absolutely, undeniably the best tacos anywhere. We live in Southern California where tacos abound, but we have never had better tacos than at Evergreens. The fact that such good food comes from a food truck is remarkable. Wish we had Evergreens in Southern California! And the owners are a delightful couple as well.Thank you so much for checking us out and taking the time to review us! It means a lot to us !We wish you all the best and hope you enjoy your stay in Norway :)

We had dinner here, the Teryaki chicken and the samurai chicken. Both meals were very large and delicious. Just order from the counter and seat yourself wherever. Prices are quite reasonable. I recommend this restaurant.
