The restaurant at the motel gets little publicity but is well worth stopping for dinner . The chef takes pride in his work is a perfectionist with quality presentation and quantity great tasting and The service is first class whilst being extremely inviting and friendly . Price is reasonable in no way over the top and the menu has great variety of different food . Generous wine menu , not much to say other than I was glad I went there and will definitely go again .

The place has changed since I was last there, more upmarket. We had stuffed mushrooms, Cheese bread for entree, Largs servings.For main we had roast of the day, Silverside., Chicken Parma with seafood sauce and a Scotch fillet with chips and veggies which melted in your mouth.All very large serves which meant we could not eat it all. Very delicious.Staff were excellent and very helpful.Worth a try.

I took my father out for lunch today and I was delighted that an all day breakfast is available somewhere locally. My father initially found the idea odd, but after ordering the omelette⦠he was really impressed. He admits he has never been in the café, even though he is local to Sale, and he would most definitely return. I ordered the pancakes and while I was disappointed that banana was not on offer, I did enjoy the blueberry ones that I was served. Lunch was pleasant, it's average value with very good service. Tasty food. Simple menu. Centrally located in a mall area - no traffic! I can see why it's so busy.

Had breakfast. Friendly, knowledgeable service followed by excellent food and a proper pot of tea - not a teabag in sight. The restaurant was quite busy at 10.30 in the morning and clearly a favourite with locals. The menu has lots of creative twists and as food was being delivered to other tables I wished I had longer to stay in Sale so I could try more of what is on offer. It has a spacious table set out so is very accessible for those with limited mobility or parents with a pram. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. From my experience I highly recommend Portside.

In town for business and this hotel was recommended by a local colleague. 3 ordered from the schnitzel menu, each one different. All of us were disappointed with what was a pretty bland meal. Cheap but bland. The 4th ordered a steak and was happy enough. Overall a bit disappointing. Staff were friendly and efficient but they were let down by the kitchen.

Found on Trip Advisor travelling to The Spirit. Wonderful warm French/European decor and atmosphere. Would have preferred music to match rather than reggae! Food was outstanding until we came to dessert which didn't arrive as ordered for half an hour. Apologies all around (these things happen) but then the plate was literally thrown on the table when it did arrive. I would hope she was having a bad night. Spoiled an otherwise wonderful meal.Dear Frank, thanks for your comments and I am very sorry that the service did not measure up on this occasion. The chocolate fondant takes about 15 minutes to cook and another 5-6 minutes to cool. Our staff have been instructed advise customers of this. However, there vas no excuse for the staff behaviour; our staff are very well trained, at the moment we a training a couple of new staff and regret that you had such an experience. I certainly hope you will call again! I will personally make sure that you will receive the absolute best of service that we always aim to provide. Oh, and thanks for your comment on the music as well, will make some changes!

Busy cafe with attentive staff and reasonably priced. The coffee was not too bad but we all were a bit flat on the meal. Not bad enough to not go back but just fell a bit short on this occasion

For a hotel on the verge of being bulldozed, the refurbishment is exemplary. Went for dinner on a Saturday night. Food was very well presented and tasted terrific. A mainly young, and enthusiastic staff that was polite and professional. Stayed after dinner and listened to a wonderful 3 piece 'jazz/early rock' group that didn't blow your ears off and that catered for a more mature audience. Great to see musical groups in establishments like these and not just singer/guitarists playing 'Khe San' and 'Horses'!!

You know, one of the best things I like, is when people don't renovate a place to death. This great coffee shop/cafe is totally cool. I love all the funky space. The people are real as is their coffee and food. We were there for breakfast and totally enjoyed it from the service to coffee to food, and the atmosphere. I wish I had taken photos. Next time.
