Reviewed By nickaway1Gday Folks,, Allow me to introduce The Hub, Port Vila Vanuatu - Hosts Bryan ( B ) and Galia ( G ), I had the pleasure of working and living in Port Vila for 6 Months - Jan 2018 - July 2018 and within 3 days of arriving in country and some legwork i secured a cosy 1 bedroom apartment overlooking no 2 lagoon - Clean , Tidy, Tranquil, Comfortable, Easy Walking to shopping, supermarket eateries, pubs and bars - local taxi at 1 min easy walk to main road. Hosts B&G are fantastic - Bryan is always busy ensuring visitors enjoy and appreciate the ongoing upgrades, expansion and property improvements whilst G directs traffic around daily housekeeping and upkeep of apartments and surrounds - top people who are always willing to assist where possible and a couple of quite Friday night drinks around the pool/bbq is not unheard of ! If ya play golf bring your clubs,,,B is always up for game ( ya short game needs work mate ).... Look, its a great place, really nice place, the rooms are spacious, comfortable with A/C, fans, fully self contained with Kitchen, cable TV and individual apartment wifi, ( onsite clothes washing facilities available which is a god send - Sylvie is a angel ),,,,,for any term engagement either short or long term do yourself a favour and reach out to B&G at The Hub and enquire about a stay - highly recommended.....ps,,direct lagoon access and kayaks / canoes available ( local tour guide Ian enjoys a paddle and lives on the ground floor and the Voice ( bigman ) lives top floor - both great blokes and worthy of a catch up, chat, beer and a much appreciated heads up on local tours, drives, / Do's and Dont's etc....Recommendations - Beach Bar at Mele Road for a sunday session,,,Warhorse Saloon thursday night kareoke, and Matt Measey's Brewery Bar main esplanade opposite Casino - Stone Grill and Golden Port Chinese are others i recommend.. enjoy - Cheers Nick - ( i have travelled and worked abroad for the past 20 years and have experienced a variety of accommodations - this is my first and only appraisal of any premises in which i have stayed - Love it and will be back <<<<)

Reviewed By JoanneHamjamThe staff are so friendly and supportive, nothing seems to much trouble, from receptionist who was able to recommend places to see and visit, organised transport and tours. To the Nightwatch man, it was very reasuring to know that there was someone available to stand with me while I waited for my transport after dark. Its an easy walk to supermarket one way and in the other direction to the township with Markets, restaurants, cafes and other shops. From the balcony there are awesome views of the water which is across the road. Pool and Beach towels available on request. WiFi available. We will definitly return again.

Reviewed By Janelle CDefinitely an amazing view of the ocean and where the cruise ships come in. So many restaurants and shops walking distance. Very clean and comfortable. Not near a beach but very close to the city and very easy to get to the beach.

Reviewed By Anna RThis now my 4th stay with at Hibiscus and I definitely call it my home in Luganville! Marie and Lois are the best hosts: very responsive, friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to help guests feel comfortable. There aren't many rooms, so it's very relaxing and great for both people travelling for work or a holiday. Each room has comfortable beds (usually one double and a single), a table, kitchenette (with gas stove, pots, cutlery, mini fridge etc.), a bathroom (with good shower, handy storage pots and hanging hooks), fan and mosquito netting. Outside the rooms is a communal area that has benches and an area where you can access free wi-fi. In terms of location it's close to to the main road (supermarket, market, restaurants) and easy to get to from the airport. It's very good value for money too - you can see why I come back! I have no hesitation recommending Hibiscus! Thank you for everything, Marie and Lois - I'll be back! :)

Boutique, luxury, and spacious waterfront apartments. Just steps to the beach. Watch the sunset from your patio overlooking the ocean. All apartments absolute waterfront, airconditioned, wireless internet, TV/DVD players. Pool and beach. Quality finishings and furnishings. Fully serviced with on-site management. Surfing, diving and snorkelling. Full kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, icemaker, big fridge but there are also 5 restaurants at nearby resorts if you wish to eat out.

Reviewed By JeanetteA6We stay in the apartments for 2 weeks it was amazing the apartments are beautiful, very very clean, the staff are so friendly they will do anything for you, we were snorkaling out the front of our room swimming in the pool playing with the local children, your not in a resort you are with real people, we had 2 adults and 4 teenages with heaps of room, James and Claudine would help us with anything they organised adventures they even did a shopping list for us so when we got there we did not have to go any where it was all done. we would happily love to reccomend the apartments to anyone. We would stay no where else and we can't wait to go back. thank you James, Claudine and all the staff at Pandanus Bay

Reviewed By Nadine SLarge spacious 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen and laundry - the apartment was serviced daily by the delightful Rose - the beds were very comfortable - we enjoyed having a full kitchen as we love cooking the local organic food - great position on the waterfront - close to wonderful fresh fruit and veggie market, the centre of town, cafes and restaurants! Enjoyed the atmosphere and live music at the Waterfront restaurant too which is a few doors up - very friendly local staff and amazing curries!!

With options for everyone from Fun Kids Meal Boxes, Meat and Vegetarian favourites and also many vegan options coming onboard. Enjoy free use of Bicycles, Stand Up Paddleboards, Kayaks and even a Beach Volleyball Court where you can catch a game against our staff. Kids can enjoy our outdoor pirate ship playground or venture to the indoor play area loaded with games, books and toys to keep them entertained. Our friendly staff are always ready to lend a hand with the kids to allow some ‘time-out’ for yourselves. Paddleboarders and families with children love the calm waters of our sandy beach as we are free from Vila’s notorious corally coast and surf waves. No reef shoes needed here!

Reviewed By Julia VOur apartment was a very good size and very clean. The resort is small but very friendly with a great cafe, pool and beach right out the front. Our apartment was serviced daily and tea etc replaced. About 50 metres up the beach is a beach bar that has a very funny free circus, Vanuatu style, every Sunday evening. The ladies at the resort were very helpful and looked after us very well . One thing we found very useful, as we were told not to drink the tap water, was a barrel filled with rain water that you could get jugs of water from. Hideway Island is a walk away at low tide or a ferry ride to snorkel in a marine sanctuary and lunch.If you want 5 star luxury this is not the place for you BUT if you want friendly, comfortable right on the beach apartments then this will suit you very well.

Reviewed By CraignLuWe are seasoned travellers that have stayed in very authentic, rustic villages before in Mexico, Amazon, Thailand and more. This stay is on a very remote road close to the Volcano, 1 hour walk from Volcano gates. The pros - This place has an amazing, awesome view of the volcano. At night you can hear and feel the explosions. The people working and operating this stay were fantastic. The food was great. The picture attached was the view from the room. The cons - you need to be ready for a very rustic experience. No power, no hot water, cold water pressure very low. Room not sealed, no screens and door didn't close. There was a bug screen over bed but you have to be aware that you will sleep with Jungle wildlife at night (bugs and rodents). No fans or any type of relief from the heat. The road gets worse with the rain. If you are not good with rough 4X4 roads, rethink. We are glad that we had this experience but we found the limit of our comfort border. We left early as we couldn't handle having a rat and roaches in the room at night. Sorry for the rough review but we have to be honest for other travellers. I am sure many backpacker travellers would be OK with this place. The people there are fantastic.

Reviewed By G5091AAjakegMy partner and I booked a few days here between Xmas and NY, after spending some time in Port Vila. Upon arrival, we knocked and called out but got no reply. We called Sarah and she said she was twenty minutes away and would call us back in a minute. We waited fifteen minutes and called her again, and she now said someone should be home. We knocked and called out again and this time someone came out and said the key to our room was in the door. We didn't know where to go so he took us up to the room. Not a great start but never mind. Inside, the place was tired-looking and a bit underwhelming. The outdoor area was and bathroom was both quite dirty. The fan switch at the entry was broken with exposed live wires. We unpacked and headed towards the beach to get familiar with the surroundings. We came back and there were people in the room replacing several of the ceiling fans. This took up the apartment for most of the first afternoon. From there things got worse. The water didn't work half of the time, and when it did it was almost always cold. While this wasn't the only issue, it was the biggest one for us, so we emailed Sarah about it but didn't get a response. Over the next couple of days, more issues arose; the pots/pans/plates/cutlery had only been half-heartedly cleaned so we learned to clean everything before use. The shower recess was filthy with mold and soap scum. The TV didn't have an aerial cable. The kettle was broken with bits of plastic falling apart into the water. The bbq was dirty and uncleaned from the last use. They only supplied a single roll of toilet paper for a 5-day stay for two people. The apartment isn't serviced but they don't provide a broom or anything else to keep it clean yourself. You get one bath towel for your stay- no replacements and no laundry facilities to wash them. Dogs from the neighbouring apartments were walking in and out of our apartment all the time, once eating food from the table. More generally, the location isn't great (a bit remote) but we knew that when we booked. It's a three-minute walk to the beach which is pretty and private but not great for swimming (shallow with coral and a strong rip). The furniture is mostly cheap and damaged and the apartment is showing signs of poor maintenance (water stains, rust, missing knobs etc). After two days with intermittent water supply and no hot water, we called to check up on it being fixed and to raise some of the issues above. Nicole said she would give us a 50% refund on the accommodation and would speak to Sarah about the other issues and call us back shortly. We didn't get a call. We sent a follow-up email but didn't receive a response. We finished our last couple of days and checked out. It's now a week later and we've emailed a few more times but still have not received a response. We've given Sarah and Nicole ample opportunity to avoid a review like this but with the issues and the complete lack of response to them, they clearly have no intention of providing a decent experience for their guests. I would avoid this place like the plague. Hands down the worst accommodation experience we've ever had.
