Find out what Mexican restaurants to try in Crescent City. Crescent City (Chetco-Tolowa: Taa-’at-dvn, Yurok: Kohpey, Wiyot: Daluwagh ) is the county seat of, and only incorporated city in, Del Norte County, California. Named for the crescent-shaped stretch of sandy beach south of the city, Crescent City had a total population of 7,643 in the 2010 census, up from 4,006 in the 2000 census. The population includes inmates at Pelican Bay State Prison, also within the city limits, and the former census-designated place Crescent City North annexed to the city. The city is also the site of the Redwood National Park headquarters, as well as the historic Battery Point Light. Due to the richness of the local Pacific Ocean waters and the related catch, and ease of access, Crescent City Harbor serves as home port for numerous commercial fishing vessels.

We went to Toreros a couple of times, the first time we were not impressed with the food but the atmosphere was good. Service not so great. The second time we took some friends, one ordered albondigas (meatball soup). There were only 3 small albondigas in a very bland looking soup. I make albondigas myself and was horrified when I saw the dish. The rest of our food was not very good either. We have not been back since.

My husband and I tried various Mexican restaurants in Crescent City, some were just OK, some were pricey and awful but we finally found Cazadores. Great shrimp dishes, great chimichangas, quick and friendly service. If you are looking for atmosphere this would not be your place but if you want quick friendly service, great food, and plenty of food for the price you can't miss with Cazadores. Their rice and beans beat almost all other restaurants not just in Crescent City but Northern California. It's the one restaurant we never miss when we visit Crescent City. We are of Mexican descent and have taken numerous Hispanic friends there, they all were impressed with the food and service.

Small menu with daily specials, fresh food made by a Mexican granny with love while you wait just a short time. Fresh tortillas and a good selection of cold beer.

Very good food and excellent counter service. The girls working tonight were very polite and our food was delicious. The wait time for our meal was short. I had a taco salad, which was much better than where I usually get it and hubby had the two soft taco plate. Enjoyed every bite!

A larger selection than usual and we enjoyed our choices. We liked the quiz cards on the table and stayed longer as we were enjoying playing. Would definitely return

A little Mexican restaurant we found driving up 101 from San Jose to Oregon. Food was great and service was good and fast. It was a nice lunch stop after a long morning of driving.
Do you remember elementary school cafeteria lunches fondly? The gummy rice flavored with food coloring, the vegetables poured from factory bags, the seafood from a can? If so, this is the place for you! If not, keep driving. As fast as road conditions allow.
