La Ceiba (Spanish pronunciation: [la ˈseiβa]) is a port city on the northern coast of Honduras in Central America. It is located on the southern edge of the Caribbean, forming part of the south eastern boundary of the Gulf of Honduras. With an estimated population of over 200,000 living in approximately 170 residential areas (called colonias or barrios), it is the third largest city in the country and the capital of the Honduran department of Atlántida. La Ceiba was officially founded on 23 August 1877. The city was named after a giant ceiba tree which grew near the old dock. The dock itself finally fell into the sea in late 2007. The city has been officially proclaimed the "Eco-Tourism Capital of Honduras" as well as the "Entertainment Capital of Honduras". Every year, on the third or fourth Saturday of May, the city holds its famous carnival to commemorate Isidore the Laborer (Spanish San Isidro Labrador). During this time, the city is host to approximately 500,000 tourists.

this is an oasis in a not very nice city. had a couple of hours to spend between the ferry from utila and the flight back. with good coffee, free wifi, very nice atmosphere and very friendly staff, i truly enjoyed this. nicer than even the nice places of roatan and utila. unexpected good find. recommend it

Barbara was a very nice host and picked us up at our hotel for dinner. She also arranged a ride back after our meal.
I'm not a huge fan of this type of cooking as its quite heavy for my stomach. I had type of meat stew.

Had a delightful Valentine's Day repast at Susanna's. They were crazy busy. We got the last table. Informal garden setting. Staff was pressed and service slow but who cares! A beautiful tropical night in a cozy garden sipping mojitos......what could be better. For those looking for Michelin 3 stars, there are none to be had in this part of the world. Not even one star. But hearty food well prepared....that's what we found. A garden oasis in a not so nice city.

A well-stocked bar and restaurant, with great service. Indoor and outdoor service, extensive and affordable menu. They even offer hookah rental! Definitely worth checking out.

Writing this review from my husband. He has visited twice, 20-28 January 2017 and 20-25 April 2017 He loves it very much. Said the food was good. He loved the nightlife, said it made him feel young again. He even sent one of the employees a lovely flower arrangement, as well as a gift basket in March 2017.

Best sushi in Ceiba... maybe the only sushi in Ceiba. The restaurant was clean and the environment was welcoming and authentic. The prices per role are a little on the expensive side, but with sushi, I will pay more for a good product.
Service was timely and the order we made was a little complicated, but everything was served correctly and complete.
Overall a very good experience and a place I will return to in the future.

We spent an afternoon pool side and enjoyed the food and cocktails from the bar. Very relaxing, attentive service, gorgeous views and phenomenal pool. This is a wonderful place to add to your must experience places near La Ceiba. Only 15 - 20 minutes away from the city in a National Forest.

This place is attached to Buen Amigos souvenir shop (which by the way is a great place also). Tipi-Ktracho is a family run restaurant a short cab ride from the central park. The chef and owner is very accommodating to your special needs. She even brought us a free sample of something she made in addition to what we ordered. We made a point of returning a couple more times during our week long stay. We would highly recommend a visit if you are in La Ceiba.
