Absolutely Wonderful. We went for lunch after visiting Palace before Quinta da Regaleira (FUN). Bit difficult to find on phone navigation since itâs up a hill - kept telling us weâd arrived but kept walking in circles. Sweet little place with an excellent staff. While waiting a short time for a table got to see all the dishes coming out of the kitchen & knew what we wanted to order before looking at the menu. The two of us shared the spinach cream,cod soup & double mix plate (cod, octopus & shrimp over spinach & sweet potatoes) so fantastic. 40 ⬠I think. Would go again in a second. We randomly came across this restaurant for lunch and were we lucky!! The starter mains and dessert were so good, so well cooked and presented. We had salads to start, fresh curd cheese,thin slices of apple and much more, perfectly dressed. We had swordfish with a tomato ragu, simply delicious and desserts of mango, chocolate with caramel crumb and two great espressos.plus two glasses of a very drinkable white wine. Cost â¬14 pp I'll come back to Sintra just to eat here.

Went here for breakfast for our last morning in sintra! Food was amazing and staff were really welcoming! The decor inside is really cute and has great artworks on the wall/quotes like 'no WiFi talk to each other' which was really nice and also sported the traditional yellow colours of sintra/Portugal! Would recommend

Wonderful food just outside Sintra -- not easy to find, and basically one meal -- grilled chicken, french fries,and tomato salad. House wine is excellent. Always crowded so there can be a long wait -- the chicken is outstanding in taste though small in size -- suggest coming for lunch around 2 in the afternoon.

What a wonderful experience! We arrived early (7ish) and found the restaurant fully booked! They had a later reservation so they fit us in (we are prompt eaters). They were celebrating their first anniversary so we were treated to sparkling wine to start we had the sheepâs cheese course to start (6 slices of pungent cheese). We followed with grilled sea bass - delicate fillets as fresh as the ocean served with spinach and potato mash. A glass of house white (minerally and dry) to top it off. They have a small menu that allows the small kitchen to work efficiently. Weâre in Sintra for a week and weâll be back - itâs a value!

I had passed at their door many times and finally decided to get in for lunch. It did not disapoint at all! We had traditional Portuguese pastéis de bacalhau (codfish fritters), which were fried to perfection, and chicken thigh stuffed with chestnust and grapes, with a side of creamed spinach and oven potatoes. Absolutely delicious! The portions were generous, too. For dessert we had tiramisu and red fruit pavlova, both amazing as well. The restaurant has a nice cosy atmosphere, making the whole experience a mix of traditional and modern, without letting you feeling to old to be hip! We loved it and can't wait to go back!

Very busy local restaurant away from the tourist haunts, just make sure you get the full Portuguese menu not the English version with no prices & a modified menu! We had an excellent seafood platter along with very quaffable house wine. Booking advised for Fridays & weekends.

If you are looking for something a bit off the beaten tourist path that serves outstanding food in a great and friendly environment, look no further. This is it. It's small however so get a reservation so you won't be disappointed. Sort of reminded me of eating at your grandmothers and getting a spread. Everything was cooked to order, with care and was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would return and highly recommend.

After a long hike to the Castle and back I looked for a place to eat in the historical city centre. At that time it was already 14.00h and Sintra was packed on tourists. After 10 minutes I found this little restaurant where they serve simple but very tasteful lunches (and more) for a reasonable price. I had the codfish burger first. Unfortunately they run out of spinach, but they informed me and discussed the options. So, I ate the codfish with a fresh salad and it was very nice! I finished with a dessert, which I unfortunately forgot to photograph. It looked beautiful and tasted great.I can recommend this place for a lunch. Especially when you, like me, enjoy the more authentic places.Thank you Steph for your recomendation and positive feedback on our Bistro Rotas e Ruelas. I'm very happy to know that you liked our food. It will be a pleasure to welcome you another time.

Restaurante 5 estrelas, comida deliciosas, staff simpático e ambiente super acolhedor. Já vim comer a este restaurante 3 vezes, da primeira comi uma francesinha de carne, da segunda a vegetariana que é óptima e na terceira comi um bife à Cotorinho espectacular. Como sobremesa escolhi um bolo de mel muito muito bom.
