Very nice spahotel and surroundings
Reviewed By piiu2014Hotel is less than 100 m away from a top of Koli, national landskape of Finland. You can go downhillskiing from the yard of the Break Hotel. Beautiful! And the spa is perfect for couples after 20.00, no children allowed, you get sparkling wine with you, hot tub outside, several wondeful saunas, different showers, hot and cold tubs. And in nearby Loma-Koli you can go to snowmobile- and huskysafari.

Reviewed By 394anuhNice accomodation, not expensive, very friendly and helpfull staff. Breakfast incl, basic, nothing special. Due to the very hot weather the rooms were too hot, no airconditioning available. Free wifi was positiv alltho it was quite slow. Location otherwise ok, the road only in a terrible condition. Alltogether a pleasant stay.

A relaxing weekend in the middle of nature
Reviewed By Timo MWe stayed here for a weekend on easter of 2017 and I have nothing but good things to say about the place and its hosts. First of all, the hosts were extremely helpful and friendly and they made us feel like home immediately upon arriving. They let us know about all the possibilities of things to do around the area and kindly answered all our questions about hiking and the history of the place. We ended up ice fishing (which was amazing), catching our own fish and cooking it and then going to the barrel sauna they had outside. The breakfast was very good and we felt extremely relaxed after our stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for relaxation.

Timitra Hostel is a family-run hostel near the amenities of Lieksa centre. The hostel has a relaxed atmosphere and is situated on beautiful waterside grounds. The main building is an Early-Modern-style edifice and the interior is furnished with vintage design furniture and accessories. The hostel offers a hotel-style breakfast with a reasonable price. Amenities include a sauna-suite and a waterside sauna in the summer. There is a well-equipped kitchen for the use of the guests. Free wi-fi. The hostel is ideally situated for water-related activities, kayaking fishing etc. Through our partners we offer a range of activities, such as river rafting, relaxing river floating and so on. In the summer there is a car ferry service to the Koli National Park, and in an ice road connection to Koli's winter sport facilities.

Reviewed By juniorbonteWe stayed one night in Timitra hostel in a double room. The room was really clean and had everything we need. There was also a well equiped kitchen with. When we arrived we were welcomed by the owner's cute little dog. The owner also helped us to book a night in era eroo animal hide out. This host was literally the friendliest person on earth. So hand down for the owner!!

Vanhan Koulun Majatalo "Old School Inn" is a cosy and reasonably priced place to stay in Koli around the year. Hostel is situated at the center of Koli cape, near Koli´s attractions and services (Ukko-Koli 7 km, Loma-Koli 5 km, Koli Village 6 km). The atmosphere at the Inn is relaxed and easy-going. We warmly welcome groups, families and individual visitors.
Great budget stay near Koli peak
Reviewed By tonppaThis is very nice, cheap'n'cheerful budget guesthouse near Koli peak. As it is an old school building, don't expect luxury, but 'old school' charm and cozyness instead! This traditional- looking guesthouse is very clean and you can use their well-equipped shared kitchen too! They have a wood sauna also, If you wanna try that after outdoor sports. 'Old world charm' would be a good description of this lovely place. The place is a bit of a ride away from Koli peak, so you better have a car. No complains about this hostel/guesthouse.

At Kestikievari Herraniemi we had the opportunity to experience a true finnish sauna, swimming in the pristine lake Pielinen, tried excellent home-made local food from local ingredients. Accomodation was superb, cozy warm room, clean bathroom with all the necessary things provided. We could use a common kitchen, which was also well equipped. Continental breakfast was included in the price, plus fresh local berries from their garden every morning. For a longer stay, they will get you a discount price. You can also rent bikes or boats or just enjoy a walk in the countryside. They had two cute dogs around, which even the cat people must fall in love with :-) The host took us to the train station for free as we were running late! Never had such an amazing experience. Would come back again, maybe some time during winter. Recommend!

Reviewed By igornevolinSergey is very friendly and communicative host of 13 amazing northern dogs. Very long riding on the three dogs teams. It’s a wonderful and unforgettable trip in a snowing winter fairytale. At the end we’re warmed by a Karelian tea and Siberian honey.

Very good customer service & food
Reviewed By MatkaMaijuHotel Puustelli has rather basic rooms but they are very neat and tidy. All the staff are very friendly and professional. The food is lovely, and lunch & dinner buffet is available until evening. As I arrived quite late, only the a la carte list dishes were available. I chose classic dish of fried vendace and mashed potatoes, which was one of the best I've ever had. Highly recommended! Breakfast buffet was also very good, many different options with nice Karelian pies.

Central location
Reviewed By Malena181Kaatrahovi is as central as a hotel in Lieksa can be - along the main road and near all municipal services. The hotel is very much based on self-service, and I saw personnel only during breakfast time. Generally, that was no problem. I got a text message with a code to the key box and we entered the hotel just fine. I was quite satisfied with my room which faced backyard. It was simple but recently renovated. The bed was comfortable enough. There was a fridge, too, but I switched it off because of the noise it made. There were some people (workers from Eastern Europe?) singing in the sitting area rather late in the evening but my room had a small entry hall with extra door, so I didn't hear it there. My relatives had a room towards the street, and it was noisier there, as the local youth spent Saturday night driving along the road. The breakfast was ok but there was not very much choice, e.g. no fruits available.
