Convenient 9 night stay

Reviewed By Monika T

2 Couples stayed in a Chalet. One room had a double bed, the other had 2 bunk beds. 1st bedroom had a/c and fan, bunk room had neither. There was a/c in the lounge/kitchen area and that helped the couple in the bunk room. Beds were comfortable. Chalet was clean. It was missing a TV remote but management managed to source one for us, which we were very grateful for and actually amazed that they could get another one - it's not as if there is a large electrical store in town! Also, fridge shelf was missing, but again management quickly replaced. The kitchen was adequate - microwave and stove top. Limited utensils but we managed with what was there. No microwave dishes, apart from crockery for 6 people. All crockery/ glassware was new and matched. We found management were generally good at taking care of any extra needs that we had. A fly swat would be welcome addition. Very convenient to access either end of town - everything was walking distance. We were on the road front road and we were concerned about traffic noise, but this was not a problem. The pool area was lovely and clean. WiFi was free and fast and didn't seem to be limited

Do not stay here under any account. For the fact management actively discriminates against all non white guest. It is disgusting people like this are allowed to continue their hate from a managerial position. Put simply it's is run by white supremisists. How has a becon of international unity and that back packer spirit been corrupted by such hate and bigotry is alarming. Threats are made to non white guests, trips will be cut short for non white guests. I experienced it first hand. These sort of people destroy the backpacker spirit. Travel on my fellow backpackers, skip that Fremantle jail. I felt this warning was warranted. Happy travels my international travelling community.

You can chill alone or hang with one of the mainly European travelers. Location doesn’t get any better. Close to the shops bus trains oh and the beach. Great management. I recommend Pirates if you are on a budget and you are in Freo. Say hi to Vaughn for me(capt of the ship)

This hostel was home for me and for alot of people i know and love for a long time. Its messy, theres mould in the bathroom, never any plates or cutlery, no toilet paper because the owner refused to buy it for us. Said we were running out too quickly. But despite all this, the Manager Paddy and everyone there made this feel like home. We had a good time but recently with business becoming scarcer, as most backpackers have moved somewhere warmer, the hostel owner in an agitated attempt to improve his business has started to call police on guests, pulling people out of beds, throwing items of clothing in the free section because he thought their bed was messy. Screaming at guests, showing aggression and making people feel uncomfortable in their own home. Do not stay here, this rating is not a true reflection of the hostel. Any positives this hostel did have has gone, as the environment has gone from homey and friendly to uncomfortable and somewhere noone wants to live any longer. Theres also been alot of robberies recently and the owner did nothing about it. Terrible experience in the end

Great old Aussie pub with friendly staff

Reviewed By kitchenbitchInt

We had an evening meal with friends midweek. This old pub has recently been refurbished and is a pleasant change from the loud yubby and trendy bars popping up all over the area. Good choice of beers on tap and a decent wine list. The meal was your usual "pub grub" but done very well. The staff were very cheerful and pleasant. Well worth a visit if you are looking for someplace a bit traditional.

Fantastic Place To Stay

I give Busselton Backpackers 5 stars! It’s location is ideal. Literally a 5 minutes walk to the iconic Jetty & beach. Coles, Aldi, McDonalds & Dan Murphy’s 2 mins walk. Quiet street with ample parking. Rooms were super clean, kitchen, bathroom & common areas were spotless. New owners were very helpful. Beds were larger than standard bunk beds & had proper comfortable mattresses with lovely fresh linen supplied. A well equipped super clean kitchen. Gas heater for when it gets chilly. Lots of storage space in fridge & own allocated space in kitchen. Very well thought out. Some long term workers staying there who are super friendly, polite & happy to share their local knowledge. They are a bonus! Wonderful stay & highly recommend as a Backpackers assuring fellow travellers of a good nights sleep. I extended my stay it was such a great place. Will gladly return when next in Busselton.

Stayed here for one night with my wife and daughter. Simple rooms but that’s all we wanted. Had a great nights sleep. It is a bit run down but it is a hostel and it only cost $75. It was a nice quiet night for my family and I would stay again. The host Jimmy was very nice and helpful. Has a large tv room. Simple outdoor area, front and rear. Kitchen is big. Two bathrooms.

Great hostel apart from ‘kitchen’

Reviewed By madisonfrain

Hostel beds are very comfy and the communal area is nice to chill in. The rooms are slightly small and not much space for luggage (very narrow). The ‘kitchen’ is an absolute joke. Very dirty and extremely limited utensils and cooking appliances. Hostel would be much better value for money if it had a proper kitchen
