My wife and I ate here on our 30th wedding anniversary and the experience was incredible. Everything about our dinner from the reception when we arrived to the service throughout and the food was spectacular! We both had filets and both steaks were cooked perfectly. We had asparagus, Brussels sprouts and creamed spinach as sides and enjoyed a great bottle of Merlot as well. The wine list is extensive and the sides selections were fantastic. For dessert, the vanilla cheesecake was exquisite to say the least. Above all, the service at Bridgeman’s is outstanding! Our server, Derek, was awesome - attentive but not bothersome and such a welcoming personality. I would absolutely recommend Bridgeman’s to anyone wanting world-class food, a charming atmosphere and spot-on service from start to finish. This place is fantastic!Dear Grant,Thank you and to your wife for choosing Bridgeman's Chophouse for such special occasion and for taking the time to share this amazing feedback. We are happy your overall experience was outstanding. We can't to see you again soon!Best regards,

Oh my! Every bite I ate here was delicious. I feel everything on the menu is probably good. I had the Norwegian eggs Benedict (pictured). Also shared grits and hash which were also great. Would definitely recommend any brunch fans out there.

Finally got a chance to eat at this place that I have heard is so good. The pork wasn’t ready but I tried the meatloaf sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. My colleague had the smoked chicken and it was also very good. Quick, friendly service as well! Can’t wait to come back!

If there is a local hot spot on Signal , this is it. Russ and Sarah Holmes have created the perfect sandwiche shop with quality food and added service , usually finding time to chat awhile catching up on what has happened since your last visit. My favorite is the 6 inch club and the Rueben is alwaysa close second.

Merv's

Merv's is a hamburger joint at the base of Signal Mountain. Although I have passed by it numerous times this was the first time I had stopped to eat there. Despite the small parking lot the interior is pretty spacious. I believe it was renovated somewhat recently. Upon entering you seat yourself and the staff will come to take your order. I went on a weekday around 1 pm and it was not crowded at all. Service was very casual but got the job done. The menu is headlined by the hamburger but other sandwiches and salads are offered. There is a kids menu with plenty of options also. I went with the 8 oz hamburger and could hear it cooking. It takes a bit to cook but not too long and it's certainly worth getting such a fresh product. The hamburger and fries were both very good.If you are looking for a trendy place with interesting decor and numerous fancy toppings and burger combinations you are in the wrong place. There are plenty of those in and around downtown. If you are looking for a straightforward place that serves good burgers then Merv's is a good choice.

River Drifters

Reviewed By darlenesmith1838

The Dining Divas went to lunch Wednesday April 10th at River Drifters on Suck Creek Rd. There were 12 of us and we were seated immediately. River Drifters is the best kept secret in Chattanooga. The atmosphere is light and airy with a gorgeous view of the Tennessee River. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Our servers, Tyler and Cody were awesome. No one had to ask for anything. These two girls have wonderful warm personalities and make you feel like you have known them for years. They kept our tables free of empty plates, making it one of the cleanest restaurants we have been to. They are truly a great asset to the establishment. The manager/owner, Charlie, came to our tables several times to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. Two Divas split an entree and it was so large, they had to get carry out boxes. One of the Diva ordered the Shrimp PoBoy sandwich and another Diva has a shellfish allergy. Charlie went to great lengths making sure the two orders did not come in contact with each other by preparing the order himself. They have a great variety on their menu and everything we ordered was tasty, there was not one complaint with anyone. The River Drifters has a lot more to offer than just the restaurant. They rent kayaks, have karaoke on Friday night and a live band on Saturday. This restaurant is a very good place and Chattanooga is lucky to have such a place with so much variety of things they offer. We rated the River Drifters a 6 out of 5 because it was better than an 5. If you have not been, it is your loss, so do yourself a favor and go. Next week the Dining Divas will be going to Firebirds on Gunbarrel, watch for our review.

Shuford's Smokehouse

Stand inside for just a few minutes, and you quickly realize that this place is something special. There are no strangers that eat here. Seemingly every patron is a regular, and even newcomers are treated just that way. It's more than smoked meats in here

Reviewed By PeachyGrace

We were looking for BBQ in Chattanooga, checked on Trip Advisor, and chose Shuford's for proximity and due to the reviews. We were not disappointed.Shuford's meets all the requirements we tend to look for in a good BBQ place. It's pretty plain, sort of a hole-in-the-wall with nothing fancy about it. It's near the railroad tracks. You walk up to the counter to order your food. There's smoke coming out of the building (or nearby). The only thing I'd ask for next time is my sauce on the side. I like to try the meat plain before adding sauce. We had the pulled pork and beef brisket. Both were great. Our sides included onion rings (a small portion -- and so bready the onion slid out of the coating), fried okra (yummy), and slaw (very good). The women who waited on us at the window were very pleasant, and our food came out relatively fast.As I say, I'm just sorry I didn't have room left for the banana pudding. It looked amazing in the huge pan by the kitchen, and I could smell it from the counter. Alas.

Edley's Bar B Que

Can you have enough bbq places ??? NO !Chattanooga has plenty and most are pretty good in their on right. So today we checked out Edley’s, and boy-o-boy it was one of the absolute best. Five of us chowed done on pork, turkey, fried ribs, chicken wings, and catfish tacos. The cheese grits and cornbread were fantastic. I had a pork plate with the tastiest slaw ever and baked beans cooked and seasoned to perfection. The pork was the very best I’ve had in while. And the banana pudding capped the stack. Whether you live here or you’re visiting, go to the Signal Mill complex, have some great bbq and fixin’s and enjoy the North Shore sites and shops. Hey there, thank you so much for the fantastic review. We are so glad to hear how much you enjoyed your dinner. We hope to see you again soon!
