Hi, I just got back from 3 beautiful weeks in Honduras. This is my 4th trip in 4 years. I flew into San Pedro and used Kerims private transport service to the western highlands near the Salvadorian border in the department of Lempira. I did not encounter any roadblocks/riots/civil unrest. I stayed there for two weeks without incident. Then Kerim picked me up from Lempira and took a girlfriend and I to PANACAM for a night (highly recommended for bird lovers), a night by Lago de Yojoa after exploring Parque Los Naranjos and Biopark Paradise. We again had a wonderful time without any incidents. Lastly, I spent 2 days in San Pedro with Kerim, we went to Omoa (what a cultural delight) and had seafood soup on the coast. My last day he took me to a spa for an expertly given massage. I even walked to the mall by myself from my hotel. The Honduran people are warm, friendly and humble. In my personal opinion, you are more likely to be assaulted on vacation in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Chicago, etc than in Honduras. Kerim is attentive, on time, and patient Don't be afraid of Honduras,if you are a tourist, and not looking for any trouble, it most likely wont find you. The news we hear here in the US is very slanted. There are always 2 sides to every story.

To get out of the hustle and bustle of the capital city, on this one-day tour of the city of Comayagua and its surroundings, We will visit El Chircal village that houses the oldest archaeological area in Honduras located between Yarumela and Comayagua. The most outstanding building is the Cathedral Church of the Immaculate Conception, that keeps one of the oldest clocks in America, dating from the year 1100. This island is a piece of heaven on earth located 19-miles from our Port. Which is a 55 min trip to an hour (depending weather conditions) where you can enjoy historic sites such as Fort Cay where you will see a fort made by pirates, just like the bay of Port Royal famous for being a pirate harbor. At the same time you will see the honey cone rock island known locally as Cow and Calf. Then we will pass by the large area of mangrove which separates Roatán from St. Helena. Continuing with the historic island of St. Helena known for its friendly inhabitants who are engaged in traditional fishing activity and local farming to sustain part of the island economy. Once in pigeon cays you will see that the island is surrounded by crystalline turquoise water and white sand. It is also surrounded by a totally healthy and beautiful reef. You can fully enjoy the island as it is an isolated paradise. (Mangrove canal may or may not be available due to time or weather conditions)

Sadly due to Covid19 we had to cancel our visit so I cannot speak to how wonderful this place is. What I can speak about is their top notch Customer Service. When I had to cancel I was nervous I might be out the $200 I paid for myself and my family. To my surprise, the money was refunded to my card THE SAME DAY that I cancelled. This is the fastest refund I have received ever. I’m still waiting for a refund from the cruise line I was traveling with and it’s been over 30 days. I was grateful for the speedy return of my money in these unfortunate and uncertain times. As soon as it’s safe to travel and I have my vacation booked I will gladly rebook with this Vendor.

We booked Go Charlie on Facebook without knowing anything about Charlie or his company. Best decision EVER! He was waiting for us when we got to the port and actually found us before we could find him! Charlie took us to see the monkeys and sloths, chocolate factory and rum factory. We changed the itinerary around in the middle of our tour, and asked him to take us to other places we wanted to see. He accommodated our every request with a big smile. He was such an awesome tour guide and we would give him 10 plus stars if we could. Choose Go Charlie and you will have a spectacular day in Roatan! We sure did. If you want to make his day, take him some Flaming Hot Cheetos ????

Really nice tour at Boddens Monkey business. We were able to interact and take great pictures with the Macaws, Monkeys, Iguanas, Sloths of course! All the animals are rescues or children of rescues. The enclosures were spacious and the animals never pushed to do things they didnt want to do. Its clear they take really good care of the animals and care about conservation on the island. Our guide was really knowledgable and the knew the individual animals really well. Super fun hour spent in the park.
