Great ximending hotel

It's one block away from the mrt sta n one block away from ximending walking area filled w restos, bars n endless shops wer great deals await you. It's located behind the Red House n near several great bars n live bands n one mrt stop from both CKS memorial n Laoshan temple.

Good Location, Boutique Hostel Vibe
Reviewed By larry437More of a boutique hostel experience.Top floor of a commercial/office building. Common area with view looking north up Dunhua Road and Taipei Arena. Can hang out in common area, drink tea (filtered cold/warm/hot water dispenser), and eat prepared food from the options in the area, including the ubiquitous convenience stores, and traditional market with upstairs food court at the SE corner opposite of the Taipei City Arts Promotion building. Was visiting family, and stayed four nights in a clean and basic room with a queen bed, private bathroom, and a view overlooking the Taipei Arena complex. I would have gone for a run at the public track right across the street, but was recovering from a cold. Was able to check-in at late w/o problem as flight was late. Things to note: No food in hotel itself. Not all rooms have a window. If come or leave during the evening, you will share the elevator with people perfumed with beer and cigarettes, as the building has a bar and hostess club.

Reviewed By japan4seasonsI just want to say this guest house is too good to recommend, i travel around the world with my son who is just 10 years old, this guest house provide all the service that i need as budget traveler, privacy and they clean the area daily so i like it very much, it is in the center of 2 major station: Taipei Main Station and ZhongZheng Station , a morning market which sell a lot of local food is nearby too, the freg is big so we buy and store in the refrigerator and cook for a week stay, safe a lot of money.

It's like living with our favourite Auntie
Reviewed By wiredfrogIn terms of location, you are in the midst of Xi Men Ding. Metro is only one minute walk away. In terms of eating, shopping, entertaining, you are in the heart of it. Mei Lodge is more like a Bed without the Breakfast. And it is priced accordingly. Mei Lodge is a family business, established since 1965. The proprietor, as I called her endearingly as Auntie lives here too. She's fanatical about cleanliness and she's very down-to-earth too. You would know when she's out as she would close her office/sitting area. Whenever I have free time, I would head down there and have a yarn with her. She's respectful of my space, and being a night owl, whenever I open the door in the morning, fresh towels and two bottles of water would be deposited right by the door. Being a doting Auntie, in the evening, she would knock on my door and instructed me that it's time to change my bed sheet. Being a local resident and proactive with her community, she knows Xi Men Ding inside out. Naturally, she knows where to recommend you to go. The room is compact but it has everything that I need, such as a comfy bed, good pressure hot water, strong wifi. Her payment system is cash and she would record her payment in her ledger book, which is still being filled in with pencil. If you are an English speaker, you might be out of luck because she doesn't speak any but she's fluent in Japanese to complement her Mandarin and Fukienese dialect. Majority of her clientele are from South East Asia such as Malaysia and Singapore anyhow. All in all, there are fifteen rooms here, some small and some large. Despite that it's located inside Xi Men Ding, it's actually located in a small lane, and thus, it's not noisy by any means. I wish her to do better than what it is now. At the end of the day, Mei Lodge is a lifestyle choice and Auntie is contented the way it is now. Highly recommended.

Me and my family will definitely happy to stay again in this hostel, the price also very affordable. The location is very strategic as well, 10 mins from shilin market.

Hostel for family and friends
Reviewed By Timmy TWe were here with my friends for the weekend. Location is perfect and it's easily accessible by Uber or taxi. It's also quite close to the subway station if you are on a budget. The whole apartment is very big and have a few rooms, enough for a big family or if you wish to enjoy your time with your friends. There is a big garden (with a slide) which you kids can play there as well. The apartment is very stylish and all the rooms and bathrooms are clean. Highly recommended for those who would like to spend a weekend in Tai Pei.

Reviewed By neil tristan yshort walk from songshan mrt station. taipei is a disabled-friendly city, but the entrance to the building does not have a ramp depending on the receptionist at that time, there may be some difficulty conversing in english. but they use apps to help them, and they really try to help the room is what's expected in the pictures, except for the hello kitty doll. we were excited to see this upon our arrival, and were even ready to buy it in case it's not free, but alas it seems to have been used for promotion only the window has 2 screens: a privacy screen that distorts light both ways, and a wooden outer one. we had a clear view of taipei 101 internet was fast, as usual in taipei there's a massage chair inside. not really a fan, but tried it a few times. used it as a chair for watching tv tv's got a good mix of english and chinese channels. discovered masha and the bear here, which my kid loved there's a ref, and a water dispenser bathroom is on an elevated platform from the rest of the room. and it has no lock they got shampoo and bath gel disponsers. water heaters responds well when you change the temp mattress is a bit stiff for me. pillows were a bit too large for me, but was able to sleep well breakfast is available, but it actually happens at capital hotel beside it. the receptionist will hand you coupons for this wouldn't mind coming back to this hotel
