You can eat very well—and very cheaply—in Taipei. The restaurants may not look posh, but the quality of the food is superlative. And there’s a huge variety of restaurants—in addition to local Taiwanese specialties, you’ll find regional cuisines from all over China, as well as great Indian, Japanese and even Italian options. Just make sure to leave some room for snacks—street-vendor food here is addictive.

A bit on the pricier side for Taiwan standard. But hey you paid for premium meat quality and experience.
All the staff were very friendly and professional. Appreciate how they wouldn’t push you to order more instead they would tell you to order later if needed

My husband and I truly enjoyed our dinner here. As we had dietary restrictions, we requested for our meals to be prepared Meat and Alcohol free and they were able to accomodate to us. The wait staff were also attentive and helpful. The best dish IMO was the Lobster bisque noodles! The broth was full of umami and satisfying on a cold Taipei night. The Vegetable fried rice was delicious as well!

Not many hotel bars are happening but you can rely on Woobar to bring in beautiful people!
Excellent cocktail and service also. I had a sore tummy so didn't end up drinking but a waiter was so kind to provide a cup of hot water. Very attentive!

Merlot Cafe & Bistro is a small but cozy restaurant located in the alley right next to the Gloria Prince Hotel near the corner of Minsheng E. Road and Linsen N. Road. We serve western and Italian cuisine and focus on using fresh ingredients to create "clean" flavors. We offer a nice selection of wine to compliment our food, have cold beers from different parts of the world, and some simple cocktails. Merlot Cafe & Bistro is quite small and can only accommodate 15~20 guests so making a reservation in advance is suggested. We are closed on Mondays. Stop by for a bite to eat and a drink, and chat with Bob in English. Bob is from California but has lived and worked in Taiwan now for 13 years.
Fantastic family owned Italian restaurant, the food is fresh, inspired, and made with love. The proprietors, Bob and Vicky make every meal a treat, and are incredibly welcoming. They have a great selection of wines, the knowledge to recommend the right one, and a flair for the original. Little known fact, they also have a great whiskey selection too! Ask for the chef's special and you won't be dissapointed.

Visited this restaurant for dinner whilst in Taipei as on trip advisor it called out as vegan options available which it does have. However by chance when ordering the naan bread the waitress said that the naan was not vegan even though on the page it says all naans are vegan but thanks to her for pointing it out.
Food is really tasty, a good level of spiciness and full of flavour definitely recommend people to try this one.

We came with a party of 10. The proprietor paid special attention to us and made some fabulous recommendations.
We were traveling with vegetarians so Indian food seemed like a good choice. There were plenty of veg and non veg options on the menu.
Our favorite veg dishes included a potato cake with a bean type of sauce as an appetizer. Pleasantly spicy-really opened up the appetite. An eggplant dish was also particularly good-our vegetarians were pleasantly surprised to see it offered.
As far as non veg goes we particularly enjoyed a shrimp plate, a grilled lamb roll and chicken tikka masala.
If you ever travel with vegetarians to Asia, as a compromise you end up eating a lot of Italian or they end up eating salads while you try the local cuisine.
Indian food was a perfect solution. And Balle Balle was a perfect choice. Check it out next time you are in Taipei.

As Asian or Malaysian customer, we know better about spices. We been invaded and colonized by many colonial power before because of spices in our country. So don't tell me your few curry dishes that you provided to my clients and I were different. The food not that great. Taste for all 3 curries that you served were same and lame. All 22 of us not included my driver, my local tour guide and myself have a same thought. If i am alone felt that way it could be my tongue have a problem, but all of us. More disappointed when 3 of us were served with pack food, while all of my customers sitting at best serving table arrangements even the service was very slow. I know I am on duty here as a tour leader and not paying same package price with my customers then that kind of treat may ok with me even this is my first experience been given such food. local tour guide told me that the menu choose may not correct as per book by our land operators but as professional and well experience restaurants with expert,it is not acceptable. It was our last meals in Taiwan. After all great food served at others this one was absolutely spoiled my tour reputation. We even been told that if by any new walking customers came in we will be chased out as the restaurant was fully booked. Why u have to treat us like that. Coach driver, tour guide and tour leader who brought customers to u are your clients too u know. Infact we can promote u better if service given is good. But seems my efforts to pay about additional dishes Which is fish curry still not up to expectations I gave up. My clients even gave bad comments about this last restaurant and they saw what we ate that night. Yes we are working and maybe not pay our meals there. But we are tourism players too. Who related to this hospitality industry and waking on a same shoes with yours.

我非常驚訝台北有這麼棒的餐廳。我先吃了下午茶 所有的甜點都是現做 非常的棒 環境非常的好 我都忘了時間又繼續吃Pasta 非常建議的一個好地方。 I think this is the best place for both fine dinning and tea time in Taipei. All the sweets are fresh made and pasta is also one of the dish I try today. And the quality can really compete with the 5 star hotel. But next time will try something difference One more thing. The service is excellent.

The most fresh and luxurious cuisine. Loyal to ingredients. To create a comfortable dining environment Carefully serve every guest.
Tried the Host Shabu restaurant. We had the beef, pork and seafood set.
The service was great, with server helping with the food to put into the hotpot. Also the order was important. We had the seafood first. After we finish then we have beef and pork. Afterwards we top it off with congee made from the soup, rice, egg, and seaweed. Delicious !
Finally a food plate, ice cream and red bean soup.
Although a bit pricy, but a very memorable experience.
