Dear tourist, hostel "Las Olas" is placed on a hill side over looking lake Titicaca. From any of the eleven suites you have a marvellous view over the bay and the lake. You have spacious gardens with hammocks and deck chairs on the different terraces leading down the hill side. On our grounds you can use a fire place and we have several stone tables and benches to eat outside to enjoy the views. For those who love plants and flowers, you will find an enormous variety of predominantly local species. All suites have been individually designed, using as many natural and local materials as possible and respecting traditional ways of construction. They provide a maximum comfort and you will find many artistic details for the eye. From your living room area, from your bed and almost from any point of your room you have a perfect view of the lake through the huge window fronts. Each suite is provided with a small kitchen unit, private bath an inside hammock and a fireplace. There is also a little electric heater for your use We do a big effort to work very ecological. The cabins are built with a complete heat insulation of polystyrene inside the roof, as well as in the walls below the facade. We preheat the water with big solar panels and than feed it into the electric boiler to guarantee very hot water 24 hours a day. We recycle all our washing machine water with an automatic sprinkler to wet our extensive gardens, and we also collect any plastic or glass bottle left behind to be recycled.

Reviewed By tannerinaisaI've never stayed at a place that had so much care put into it. Looks like somewhere I could spend a whole week on my honeymoon. Staff were very friendly, view and buildings were amazing. The price was pretty comparable to some of the other hotels I checked out in that area up the hill, but in the quality there was just no comparison.

Reviewed By K9375DFlucycWe loved our stay at La Cupula! We were drawn in by the beautiful stained glass windows and it was the best place that we stayed in in the whole of Bolivia! The rooms were lovely, hot water and clean. And the staff were very thoughtful, speaking many languages and helping us with our stuff. The views from the hotel were beautiful, I can’t imagine staying anywhere In Copacabana other than on the hillside, looking over the shoreline. The best part were the gardens! If you’ve been travelling a while and don’t want to chill in a hostel room any longer than look no further than La Cupula. We loved the opportunity to sit in the beautiful gardens in the sun to chill in the hammocks with the alpacas!!

Reviewed By Doug LWe spent only one night, but wish we had more time. We have dinner and breakfast at the hotel, both were great. The service throughout was great. They stored our bags for a few days was we went trekking which as a nice stress remover.

Reviewed By ChristianM4116Friendly and helpful staff. Able to pay in boliviar, dollar and Euro. Rooms are not so big, but enough place. There was a problem with the shower, but they solved it in 2 mins. Breakfast is fine, but not too much. Great: Balcony with chairs, desks and a lot of sun.

Reviewed By robotboy15Possibly the most memorable place I've stayed. Magnificent view of Titicaca and the most lively, creative decor I've encountered. Owner Rene goes out of his way top help and communicate (at check-in, he gives you a five to twenty minute--depending upon your preference --to options in and around the area. He and his mother, Sra. Yola, are very welcoming. Breakfast is terrific. Hot water works. Can be a little cold, but it's at 13,000+ feet and the blankets are more than sufficient. Walk to restaurant row is about ten minutes and not at all inconvenient. Arguably the best lodgings decision I've ever made in forty years of travel.

The internet (wifi) was fine, and the include breakfast was delicious. The hostel is a 15 min walk from the waterfront, which can be challenging if you have large bags. Finally, the staff were a delight and very helpful.

All right place but needs a renovation
Reviewed By thjallerThe hotel has an amazing view from all of the rooms, but sadly it is a long walk to the city. The rooms are quite small, but to spend a few days here is fine. The hotel looks really new in the photos, but we found it in need of a renovation. The paint was falling of and it feels older than it is. The breakfast was fine and the staff was really friendly and the lobby was open all day. The laundry service was good and fast.

Reviewed By YanivnomadI got caught in Copacabana during Covid19, so I walked all around the town checking out hotels and am beyond happy I got to stay at Hotel Lago Azul. I stayed there for a month and could not get enough of the view from the hotel balcony (and room) looking back at one of the prominent hills of the town and sweeping out towards the daily sunset on the horizon. Magical memories. The staff are from one family. They were really making sure I would be alright during the crisis, offering to get food for me, supplying me with masks and gloves and helping me to arrange documents to get to La Paz eventually. I can't thank them enough, and wish I was still there! There is a daily breakfast included. The internet was very fast and stable. It can be cold being the highest lake in the world, but there is heating available and the showers are hot. You step out the door and the lake is very close, it's one of the few hotels in town being that close to the lakeside.

Reviewed By Ponchoman23Agreed on a price and a room and paid a deposit. Then upon checking in the room changed to a smaller unit with no view and no change in price. Also no wifi... Good view and nice location but fair nicer options for the high price.
