Terrific surrounding, lovely rooms, excellent food

Reviewed By DifferentPerspective

I've been there for the beginning of a photography tour and at first as I heard "airport hotel" I thought about noise, brightness and other negative aspects, but they are all wrong! The location ist terrific. Directly at the sea, a bird tower close by. The Spanish restaurant inside serves wonderful meals (loved sitting outside on this huge balcony) and the rooms are great. I slept very well and could take some good pictures (that weren't planned actually)

Great value if you are not allergic to mold

Reviewed By pjoksa

Spent one night there while travelling to north. Place is basically good, great location by the highway, no noise, clean and quite cheap. There is one big minus however. There is definetely mold in the building. I am not allergic but I could feel and smell mold immediately. So, if you are afraid and or allergic you should not go there. Without the damage by moisture and mold, this would be a great value place on the road.

Take a break and relax

Reviewed By Seppo T

The apartment / room was excellent, new and tidy and the cherry on top was an own sauna. The small kitchenette was modern and fully equipped. If you travel by car this is a very good and peaceful place to stay and gather new strengths in relaxing sauna steam.

Forenom Aparthotel Kempele

annoying details but basically excellent

Reviewed By PeasmoldWW

This property is cheap, convenient and functional. I stayed twice en route between Lapland and southern Finland, and was very satisfied on the first occasion, although the second was marred by finding the perishables of a previous occupant left in the fridge! Apart from this sanitary defect I would observe the following: 1/ the doorcode system is simple and reliable 2/ the profusion of emails and textmessages before and after the trip is a bit annoying, when all you really need is the doorcode on the day. One of these messages does require you to provide proof of identity, which involves you needing to photograph the main page of your passport and take a selfie, if you do not have a Finnish bank account with secure access. I’m really not sure what to do if you don’t have a smartphone or tablet with roaming rights in Finland (hint: check this when you book!) 3/ the restaurants/takeaways and supermarket in the shopping mall opposite are convenient for getting in whatever supplies you need, upon arrival. Access is via a pedestrian subway only. 4/ the only other issue for me was actually finding my way in to the property from the main highway. Since booking.com, via whom I booked, did not provide adequate info on this, I’ll supply it here for the benefit of any future visitors. After leaving the main highway at Kempele E junction (junction 4a) follow signs for ’Zemppi’, the leisure centre. Once you get to Zemppi, drive past its main building, which is on your left, until you reach a dead end in the carpark. The hotel is the orange and white 6-storey building still on your left, even though it does not display a clear sign that it is, indeed, Aparthotel Forenom. Park in any available spot. During ’normal business hours’ the main entry door is self-opening. After hours you probably need your entry code there as well as on the floor where your room is located.

Place to spend a night? Find another place

Reviewed By sarasstr

88 € for a night is ok if you get a tidy room and a good sleep. But if there's none, you think you should have chosen better. This is what happened to us. We drove from Helsinki to Kempele to buy a motorcycle and needed a place to spend a night. We arrived after closing time but it was ok, after reminding the stuff about our arrival, we finally got instructions and got in. The room was awful. Worn, broken, dirty. The bathroom was disgusting. Spider net, dust, dirt all over. At least the beds were good and linen clean. Unfortunately our neighbors were loud speaking ladies who spoke and spoke and the noise came through the ventilator and we could hear everything. Long trip behind so we had to shout them to keep quiet. Thank god they did but they woke up at 0730 and started to talk again. The breakfast was good and plentiful. Home made bread was a nice surprise. In the real life a place like that is worth 50€, not more. At least they should clean the rooms properly and fix them. I can give five stars to a hotel which is simple or modest but clean. This was awful.
