A very pretty structure at the water's edge with a pontoon. The villas, all clad in wood, are huge and equipped with 2 to 4 bedrooms, kitchen, living room, hammock on the terrace and garden facing the beach. Ramato takes care of the housework. She can also cook for you. "
A disturbing experience
Reviewed By Pierre CWe spent a couple of days at the villas back in October. The bungalow met all of our expectations and its location next to the lagoon enabled us to watch a spectacular sunset Moreover the service provided by the "gouvernante" turned out to be flawless. She was provided with a list of our requirements, food wise and was able to come up with a delicious meal. However when returning from a day trip on a Sunday we found out that the cleaning had not been done, although we had been initially told that it was included in the package. As luck would have it, the manager happened to be abroad for the week-end and the young lady at the desk was apparently under instructions not to make any decision without referring to the powers that be, meaning an endless exchange of useless mails with her boss. As stated above we only have praise for the setting and the interaction with the staff at the Villas de Vohilava but can only deplore the blunders of its management.

Notre hotel est situe sur la plage d'Ambafaho sur l'ile de Sakatia. Il occupe une petite crique isolee remplie d'eau turquoise avec une magnifique plage. Un lieu magique : les tortues viennent pondre sur notre plage, les dauphins et les baleines jouent et passent regulierement au large. L'eau y est limpide et la vegetation abondante (cocotier, bananiers, ananas, papayes, mangues, citrons, ?)

Reviewed By DgotoThe hotel is located in a beautiful and isolated area and the Staff are very nice and friendly. However the entire place feels neglected, The rooms are very basic and in bad shape- broken toilet, no hot water, dirty, mice traps spread in the room.. we were supposed to stay for 2 nights and left after one. There are much better (and cheaper!) options on the island.

A great place close to the beach
Reviewed By JamboHouseLa Caravelle is located 5 minutes walking from Ambataloaka Beach. The Bungalows are nicely decorated and there's enough space (two floors). Breakfast is ok. Wifi only at the reception area. Good price/value ratio. I stayed there again for my last night after coming back from Andilana.

Reviewed By 650theaeIt was a lovely nice and small hotel. The rooms were nice and the overall look was very good. The staff is also really friendly. The location was nice with all we needed within walking distance. Sometime in the morning the local people would wash their cows in the ocean nearby. This was a very cool way to experience the real life in Nosy be and not just the tourist part. My biggest complaint is about the breakfast because it was always over 1 hour late. Even when we told them it was really important that it was on time the next day it never was. My other complaint is that the pool is smaller than it looks, but with the ocean nearby it was no problem.

Une grande villa dominant la plage de Madirokely (facilement accessible à pieds) d'un côté et les villages d' Ambondrona et d' Ampasindava de l'autre. Un très beau jardin tropical plein d'arbres, de fleurs et d'oiseaux (colibris, hirondelles, cardinaux à lunettes de Madagascar (aka Fody), une grande piscine, une belle vue et le parfum de l'ylang-ylang et du frangipanier et du jasmin vous enchantent. De bons plats succulents et petits déjeuners préparés par Vola la cuisinière. Un personnel compétent, discret et sympathique comme Gael le responsable, Fabrina la femme de chambre . Des échanges parfaits avec Monsieur Bertrand le propriétaire malgré la difficulté de caler une date de réservation suite la situation liée au Covid. Nous avons été heureux et passés d'excellentes vacances pendant trois semaines à la Villa Mitsinjo et nous espérons y retourner rapidement.

mid-budget rooms
Reviewed By Christine ATiny little rooms in a back yard. Safe and "quiet". Room are alright with a toilet. The shower flooded my entire room everytime. I've stayed here around 10times. Food isn't the best but hotel staff is nice and helpful. Can sort you out a private car if needed (with a commision of course!) It is alright.

Reviewed By sobehatourMost of people and travel agencies are confused while choosing hotel in Maroantsetra : Masoala resort is a hotel in Maroantsetra and not in Masoala. Note that Masoala national park is about two hours and half by speed boat from Maroantsetra. The hotel Masoala resort has nice beach with direct access to the beach and nice view to Nosy Mangabe island. This is a midrange hotel and considered as luxury hotel for the city.
